It's something different. If you enjoyed the Dishonored series this is a "must play" game.

DISCLAIMER: This game is dying. NA servers are showing less and less activity as time goes on. The EU servers are doing okay, but if you don't live there you will have the issue of connectivity.

MAKE A DECISION: It's a free to play game. That being said; they still want to profit. If you don't want to spend money, be prepared to sink at least 250 hours into the game before you start to get comfortable. If you don't want to grind, be prepared to give up at least 60$ (the price of a triple A title) in order to get comfortable. This does not make APB pay to win; it makes it pay to not grind. If you are not interested in doing either, this game is not for you.

GAMEPLAY: Random "missions" in an open world environment. You queue up for matchmaking, and then are sent off all over one of the two maps (depending on which server you join) to finish the objectives. Each match is a new and fresh experience. You will be forced to think. Placement, tactics, and team composition.

APB is a pretty standard third person shooter; guns have a high TTK. If you are coming from a game where you can kill in one headshot, prepare to be annoyed. No, their guns aren't better than yours, they have better aim. Being able to track smoothly and consistently is very important. However, higher level players will have modifications on their guns. The best guns in the game have 3 modification slots. The highest level of modification improves a specific aspect of the gun by 7%, and will have a negative effect in another aspect. At most, other player's guns can be 21% better than yours, yes it is important at a higher level of play, but you will still be able to compete.

CUSTOMIZATION: Truly innovative, even in 2020. Held back only by the engine that the game is currently running on, the customization is amazing. You can create custom characters, clothing, music, and cars. If you are skilled enough you will be able to profit off of your hard work by taking commissions from other players, or by simply putting your work on the public marketplace.

VERDICT: APB is good, but is not without its own problems. APB is unlike anything else you have played before. If you are interested, there is no better way to see if you will like it than to simply install it and play for a few hours. It's free.

STARTING GUIDE: When you first start the game make sure to hit T. T will open the tutorial tab which will teach you the ropes of the game while also giving you rewards. Once you finish all of the tutorials in the "basic" catagory, you will unlock a free permanent weapon. I would recommend that you figure out what playstyle you enjoy before redeeming this reward.
