This game is really something special. Kind of like how Stardew Valley shook things up and made the genre interesting again, I feel Wylde Flowers could really do the same.

Exciting new ideas help this game feel fresh and the characters are actually interesting. That voice acting is actually decent too!

Update: I have finished the game now and wow it was a very long, but enjoyable experience. I have played a few games like this before, but never have I actually cared about the characters until Wylde Flowers.

As for how the game looks: it has loads of polish. It looks amazing, though I do wish there was a setting to use higher texture quality.

If you like this kind of game, then you really should try this one out. Plus, there is a demo and Steam refund in case you were not sure if you should try.

I recommend this game, not just for what I have enjoyed so far (still in first season after all these hours), but because the design puts many AAA tier games to shame.

Warning: addictive!

A seemingly well balanced, rouge-like strategy game.

It appears there are multiple ways to reach several goals and plenty of reason to fail and try again, given everything you unlocked/learned on a previous run.

If you like games with simple rules, but engaging mechanics then give this a go if you have the quite a few hours to spare.

Update: took about 8 hours for me to beat the game. Plus 1 extra hour to get 100% complete.

A great looking game, with amazing potential. However, it sadly fails to actually deliver in so many ways.
I wanted to recommend this game, but I just can't with how everything seems so unfinished.

Many things in the game, like competitions, seemed pointless.

I only realised how to do competitions right at the end of the main story, but even when I finally realised how to do them, I felt there was no point in doing them.

The only 1 trait seems worth ever having. I really wish combinations were needed for the main story.

As for how to pass the time, I had to finish the game first until I finally read (on these forums) about using the library to pass time. That sure would have made the game more enjoyable, but then also probably would have made it extremely short for me due to how you can abuse it.

I would have loved to see unique rewards only possible from various tasks, which were required for the main story. You can just do the main story and never have a reason to do anything else.

I also noticed plenty of items were useless. For example, making a jellie stay awake didn't seem to matter. I could use abilities just the same when they were sleeping in my backpack.

Many people may still enjoy this game, as I know I did, but be warned that you might find yourself disappointed.

While it looks very interesting and the concept does sound fun, unfortunately the content is very much lacking.

The first (experimental) patch did fix some bugs and quality of life issues, but there remains far too many issues that ruin the experience.

Loading up a save game I found all my monkeys that were trained for attacking had forgotten their role. Later after a raid (which I have no way to possibly get back in time to assist with), I can see that while my defences worked, all my monkeys no longer had any roles assigned.

Assigning monkeys to specific roles as well as the user interface is somewhat lacking. It is rather annoying and the button prompts always assume an Xbox controller layout.

The first part to the game is very confusing to learn, such as:
*where to get more metal
*how to find the shop again
*how to open chests

The biggest issue I had was all the objects blocking my path. One must spend time either finding tiny gaps that cannot be seen, or a long time breaking rocks and chopping trees. This is made even worse when you have monkeys carrying chests that count as solid objects.

My 2nd biggest issue was monkeys would sometimes wander far from home, after you spend a short time on another part of the map, leaving you to have to fix it for every monkey every time you return. Followers would also forget that they are supposed to follow, after being attacked (which they cannot be told to ignore or run from).

It is worth noting that there is a lack of being able to save anywhere. You always have to return to your bed to save, which can take minutes of walking/navigating. This is even worse if you are the middle of something important, such as using a timed buff or inside a temple.

You will find yourself running out of things to do fast, while just repeating the same thing over and over for the same reward (with a different name/image).

I could easily have overlooked all the issues if the game were in early access, or a beta version.

Update: some bugs have been fixed, but content is still quite lacking and repetitive.l

Plenty of things to discover, but as is the nature of this game you will find yourself having to come back to play this game in small increments at a time.

It starts out with about 1 hours worth of things to do, but leaves enough intrigue to bring a curious player back to it every couple of days to find out what has changed.

Thankfully when the game hints that something will happen in 1 week, it does not mean you have to physically wait that long. In the mean time you can find items and accomplish tasks that will increase the rate at which time passes while you are not playing. This means something that takes 1 week, will actually be only 1 day of real time while you are off doing whatever you do when not playing The Longing.

The puzzles are minor, but the mystery keeps this game interesting. The hints found both at your home and around the place will clue you into what you can do next.

A reasonable port of the original Mega Man NES titles.

It has fixes to remove some of the issues the original version had, that existed due to the limitation of the NES hardware.

As a bonus, there are some challenges added. These, for the most part, only serve to allow you to quickly replay certain parts of the game, such as bosses. It does not add new content.

I was really looking forward to this game, but within only 30 minutes I noticed serious quality issues.

A quick read of the community forum and other reviews and I can clearly see that there are far, far too many bugs and issues.

Some personally notable issues I had:

* No sensitivity option.
* UI/UX is very poor. Feels much like a place holder.
* Tutorial is in no way engaging and not at all clear. It is very bare bones.
* Major micro-stuttering and low frame rate.
* Animations, such as repeated jumping is not at all fluid and often skips frames.
* Obvious errors can been seen in the Unity player log file.

A rather cute game that is very much a reminder of Viva Piñata.

The game is free to buy, but after spending a good chunk of time having fun I feel it is deserving of the money I can give the developer via the paid DLC.

Even if this is not usually your sort of game, it is worth checking out to admire the hard work the developer has put into this great game.

Saw this game a while back and the trailer + screenshots made it look good.
Buying this on a whim was a mistake. I wish I had played it as soon as I bought it so that I could refund it.

It lacks any form of polish. The UI is a headache to try and navigate with the bugs not helping in the slightest.
Blurry text, sluggish controls and unintuitive design. All here.

It took me far too long figure out how to progress past the first screen and the bugged tutorial did not help.

Reading what I have from the reviews I have decided to not bother dealing with this game. I am rather disappointed.

Very fun for a game in which failure is slow and brutal. Failure is a harsh reality you will become aware of only after spending hours planning out things just the way you want it.

Very fun after you learn the basics, but the difficulty spikes to unfair levels in which winning the map often depends on the luck of the draw. Knowing if your map is winnable is only possible after many hours trying to find the vital resources, such as a source of water.

To succeed you must race as fast you can to an ultimate, unknown solution. Playing this more casually will result in a loop of near-death emergencies, with no real progress being made.
