Game crashes every 5 minutes. Absolutely criminal that a company can charge money for this literal garbage.

wow. i will never understand how game companies make sequels to games that are just objectively worse in almost every way while completely vacating every idea that made the first game good to begin with.

to start, Virginia is now a sexy blonde in a swimsuit that wants to be your friend....i can not make this ♥♥♥♥ up.

the melee combat has somehow gone BACKWARD and is even worse; the enemies are hard coded to input read and will automatically sidestep any time you charge a heavy attack, making them impossible to hit if not already cornered or staggered somehow.

the island is 4x largers and 40x emptier. just traveling through more emptiness to get between any points of interest.

the basebuilding is somehow worse, you cant add materials to blueprints out of order and instead must add them in random order one at a time. you want to create a leaf trap? you have to click 20 times for every single one. there is no "input all materials" function.

the AI companion is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ AWFUL. i dont have the words to describe how stupid and unneeded this was. like this game was made by people who had never played The Forest.

this should not be called sons of the forest. it has nothing to do with the forest, it has nothing in common. it should just be a completely different game. thing is, nobody would buy it otherwise, so they have to milk the "The Forest" name to push this garbage product. Feels like it never left early access, as is the case with so many ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ games these days.

the second mission of the game, the first NON-TUTORIAL mission, is quite literally impossible without using a step by step video guide or written strategy.

one of the most artificially difficult, unbalanced, horribly designed games i have ever seen. not worth the $5 i spent on this garbage.

Another world wide hit like Skyrim, i.e. a video game for people who do not play video games and want their video games to be more like watching a movie instead of actually....playing a video game.

genuinely one of the most boring and unrewarding wastes of my time and money. the combat is awful, the dialogue checks are awful, navigating the open world is awful, trying to get your character to not walk directly into giant fires is awful. what the ♥♥♥♥ are people thinking with this game?

every single item is a decoy for a mob hiding around a corner/behind a wall/on the ceiling/underneath the ground/right behind you.

the mobs have collective telepathy and watch you via security cameras 24/7, i.e. they are programmed to attack specific spots as you walk around corners, not even the player itself.

again, they programmed the enemies to attack SPOTS, NOT THE PLAYER.

the entire game is a giant gimmick with a generally fluid combat system that becomes pointless once you realize the entire game is a predictable gimmick.

same tier of game as Horizon Zero Dawn or Assassin's Creed; looks nice, is actually entirely empty, and contains nothing original.

terrible game made by greedy ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ devs who force you to make a PSN account despite playing on ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ PC.

Made even worse by the non-existent support from steam who wont refund the game on the legitimate premise that mandatory PSN accounts were not advertised appropriately when purchasing the game.

Absolutely my fault for wasting $40 on this piece of trash. The gameplay is *so* incredibly average. This game is popular for the same reason lifted trucks and Monster tattoos are popular; it gives incels a boost to their infantile egos.

the entire game is completely pointless until you have enough siege units to actually push into an opponent's base; until that point, your units cannot do anything except kill other enemy units OUTSIDE of their base. Whoever gets trebuchets faster just goes and sits outside of range and slowly kills you while the deathball army protects the siege units.

Every game goes exactly the same way. There is no interesting strategies like in ANY other RTS game, buildings are essentially invulnerable to anything other than siege units, so they are the end-point of every match. Completely pointless to think any game is going to go any way other than macro--->mass units into deathball--->finally start making long range siege units--->slowly amove into enemy bases to kill key structures.

production, economy, and units in general are just completely tangential to "who got siege units first?".

the game would be infinitely better without siege units, ESPECIALLY given they removed friendly fire, so your idiot spearman can literally just have a party underneath the avalanche of stones from your mangonels while the enemy units evaporate. Absolutely brain dead. Can you imagine if siege tanks and widow mines did not do friendly fire damage? BRAIN DEAD DEVELOPERS.

Just play AoE2. Or literally any other RTS. This game is for people who cant handle air/stealth units because they can only focus on one thing at a time: mAkE SiEgE UnItSs LoLoloLLollOOloLOlll

AoE4 is like watching Starcraft 2, but every single match is just both players massing carriers because theyre the only thing that can kill structures. There is a reason AoE4 pulled all the trash SC2 pros and none of the even remotely competitive ones.
