A fantastic game, and big surprise. I was initially interested when the game was first announced but didn’t follow it too closely until it came out.

Between the setting, the characters and the gameplay focus in finding hints and deductions, I kept thinking of it as “Sherlock’s Creed”, reminding me both of AC Syndicate and the Sherlock Holmes games from Frogware which I love.

Unlike those, the game uses an isometric camera, which allows you to explore a beautifully detailed 1905 Warsaw top-down.

While Wiktor is a compelling character and meets many other interesting NPCs (including some historical personalities like Rasputin), the real star of the game is Warsaw itself, portrayed at a crucial point in time as Polish sentiment against Russian occupation rises.

I loved running around the city and finding these little scenes of daily life, which gave a great sense of place.

While there was already a lot of fun to be had back then, Battlefield 2042 did launch in a rough state mostly due to some core game design decisions with the focus on 128 players.

The good news is that that DICE and their partners have been very busy in the two years since to significantly rework those design issues (classes, vehicle balance, map size and spacing), turning the game into a great Battlefield experience that is a blast to play and which delivers that classic sandbox madness that you can only really get in these games. Highly recommended!

Gorgeous game, thought there is little time to appreciate the graphics while purging hundreds of heretics alongside an Ogryn called Thuddo who is trying to unlock new oversized pants.

If you enjoy intense co-op melee/ fps combat, you should have a good time. If you love the grimdark future of the 41st century, it is a must have game for the levels alone.

The game strikes a great balance between immediately feeling like a classic Age of Empires game in the vein of Age of Kings, and still being like a more modernized take on the formula, for example with more distinct and unique civilizations.

I especially love the way the campaigns are presented as a kind of playable documentary.

From the way every asset was reworked to the extensive bonus behind the scenes materials and their presentation, this is clearly a labor of love for everyone involved. C&C Remastered sets a new standarf for how beloved games should be restored, and is the perfect way to (re)discover some of the most influential PC games ever made!

Early Access Review
Extremely polished despite being in Beta, and great decision to go cross-platform and progression from Day 1.

I backed this game when it first apepared on Kickstarter, but the final result has far exceeded my hopes. Nightwar is an awesome throwback to old-school JRPGs (travel on an overland map, with separate dungeons and combat screens), very satisfying turn-based combat and a lot of nice moments between the characters for all BattleChasers fans. And of course it all looks great thanks to Joe Mad's signature art style and the vibrant colors.

Highly recommended from my side :)

Don't worry about the low Metacritic- this is a solid remaster of one of the best strategy games ever made, with some nice improvements when it comes to multiplayer functionality and modding. Plus, getting new official content for a 17 year old non-MMO game? Mindblowing...
