Twitch recommended a stream of someone playing this in July 2024. At the beginning of August I started playing. By September, I already had over 300 hours.

Just get the game and play it. And don't listen to any bald, sweaty men trying to tell you they're king.

- Interesting game mechanic (orbs) that quickly loses its novelty as its complexity is really shallow
- The writing is atrocious, the primary reason for the negative review, and, in a word, ham-fisted. Instead of a story that builds relationships gradually and allows the player to become invested, it hurries you through the phases of interpersonal relationships like a speed date and doesn't earn any of the payoff. It's as if the author wrote a checklist for what a personal relationship is and made that each step of that character's quest. Dialog is at times cringe-inducing, not because of the subject but because of the shoddy writing.
- Great graphics! I expected as much from a Chucklefish-published game, and it's the reason I initially bought it (that, and being a Castlevania-style game)
- LGBTQ+ representation is important and done poorly in this game. While present, the writing just seems to include it as an "an also", tacking it onto the story line and character traits like a post it note instead of weaving it into the fabric of the story. While LGBTQ+ people are present in the game, the writing makes it feel like a gimmick instead of actual representation. Ultimately I feel the writing hurts LGBTQ+ representation more than helps it.
- The writing and stuff could likely be improved if the game wasn't so short. I beat it in under ten hours, and I'm a pretty casual player, taking my time to explore and stuff. For reference I think Castlevania: Symphony of the Night took me over 30 hours on my first play through. That doesn't excuse the terrible writing; you can still write well even with time constraints.

Buy the game if LGBTQ+ representation is important to you. Even if done poorly, it's still there. Otherwise, there are way too many other Castlevania-style games to play.

Early Access Review
Lovely gameplay, excellent crafting system, and honestly just an all-around great ARPG. Fits somewhere between Diablo and Path of Exile in difficulty, which is the sweet spot for me.

I don't normally put this many hours into an FPS. Highly approve of recent changes, but I think that's because I never played meta so now everything I did play feels so much better. Legendary feels more like a challenge. Wish some bugs would get fixed, but I recommend the game so much I've bought it for others.

I think I've put the most hours in this game as of this review.
