PROS

+ Great FPS helps make the combat more fluid and fun.
+ Awesome Boss Fights and some truly Awesome and nostalgic areas
+ Phenomenal Soundtrack
+ Once again Tons of Loot and Lore in each item
+ Fantastic end to the Souls Series

CONS

- A few gimmick boss fights that could be so much better (Deacons of the Deep, Yhorm the Giant and High Lord Wolnir are good examples)
- Some areas miss the mark (Consumed King's Garden and Irithyll Dungeon are good examples)
- Laggy PvP and 1 Shot Builds

Final Score - 9 / 10

INTRO

Dark Souls 3 is the fourth and final installment in the Souls series of games and after the disaster that was Dark Souls 2 Fromsoftware is here to give us the finale we deserve. In this lightning fast game compared to the snail that was Dark Souls 2, Dark Souls 3 will be testing your reflexes and overall skill in it's great base game and it's 2 DLC's!

STORY

One again as I have said before the story of the game and souls universe in general is told through item's and the descriptions of said items. You are the ashen one and you are tasked with finding and returning the lords of cinders to there thrones in order to link the flame again. Once again though if you wish to understand the lore better you will search everywhere for items just so you can read their descriptions.

DIFFICULTY

Dark Souls 3 feels like it hit the right spot with it's difficulty. While it's still tough as nails and completely based on your skill as a player, the speed of this game makes everything so much more fun and smooth. There are many incredible fast paced bosses to test your skill as well as many areas packed with enemies, secrets and shortcuts to find. now of course not every boss is a winner and some areas could be better but overall this game has a good balance unlike the second game. Heck if you are good enough you can even fight a late game boss early so you can access a late game area much earlier!

GAMEPLAY

The gameplay is what you expect from a souls game but this time it's so much more smooth and fast paced, which may give some people issues but once you get adjusted to it you should be fine. Boy you know I still love my 2 Handed Heavy Ninja Build! The dodge rolling in this game feels much more responsive which you will need to dodge the fast enemies and bosses. Now of course I need to point this out but just like almost every other Fromsoftware game there is a problem with input queuing. If you have played enough Souls games though you will be used to this by now, it's not that big of an issue usually.

LENGTH

Dark Souls 3 depending on your skill set can actually be pretty short, even with the 2 DLC! However if you are a completionist like me the game will give you tons of enjoyable playtime! You can of course run to the bosses as fast as you can but you can always take your time searching high and low for rare items, shortcuts and other optional things

MUSIC

The soundtrack for this game is amazing! Once again the music will usually only play during boss fights and in certain areas but when it kicks in it hits hard! One song in particular is an amazing call back to the first game! Which is it? You will have to find out yourself with your own two ears.

DLC

The 2 DLC's for Dark Souls 3 are fantastic. Now I myself am more of a fan of the second DLC the ringed city as it has some of the best boss fights in the series as well as plenty of amazing items that reward those who explore. The first DLC however I tend to find myself running through just wanting to get it done...not gonna lie though. Ashes of Ariandel has one of the best DLC Final Bosses and it will put your skills to the ultimate test in this 3 phase battle to the death.

FINAL VERDICT

Dark Souls 3 is a fantastic finale to the souls series and honestly I hope Fromsoftware keeps this as the final souls game. Overtime I have grown to love this game more and more. I always have said I enjoy the first game the most but after writing these reviews I have come to a conclusion. That being that I am giving Dark Souls 3 a 9/10 as it's the best Souls game in the series. The smoothness of the frame rate and the combat really are nailed here and many of the areas and boss fights are just so fun and memorable. If you got the time and patience for difficult games and you are not afraid to learn I would highly recommend giving Dark Souls 3 a chance!

9 - Fantastic game. Almost perfect, not many flaws.
10 - Perfect. This game has no flaws and even if it does the flaws take nothing away from this game at all.
