this game is too good(kinda), that RE4DEmake copied 80% of its mechanics. that says everything about this game.

finished in 3-2-3-3. im fairly disappointed in very expected ways.

melee has been nerf to the ground. the range still sucks and they say it has been "improved" over demo. heavy attacks need stamina to hold but at the same time you need stamina to close the gap so if you thinking about charging heavy around corner and pop out and hit. you will sometime let go of the heavy hit because you ran out of stamina. to counter this just stam-up or berserk, it just lame solution to do melee now instead of running and slashing. you need to psy-up every time you try to do melee to compensate its weakness. ND just turned the game into typical shooter. not to mention about if you killed robot with melee? it will explode on your face and deal damage to you. they just want to make melee as bad as possible aren't they?

explosives are annoying since energy shield doesn't protect you from them anymore it will go through your shield and kills you instantly or take 3/4 of your health away especially the suicide drone section in level 9 it just terrible. and cortex reaver fight it just plain dumb, since this guy just spam nades at you. that you cant mitigate. just stam-up and run like a chicken with its head cut off is the only way to out run grenade spam in this fight.

the garbage bloom that gating skill of player to RNG. especially the starting pistol is just plain awful.

visibility problems. too much darkness and difficult to see enemy. yeah, let's have a drone that can shoot rockets has the same blue color as the background on level 8, it just blending there and took half of my HP away and i cant see anything in one burst since shield has been nerf terribly. the OG has many problems but visibility is not one of them.

when you got hit while using energy shield you will get the "shielded" effect that disorienting you like flinching in old COD for some reason.

you have to manually activate radiation suit for some ♥♥♥♥♥♥ reasons instead of automatically do it for you when entering radiation area. why? what's the point for this? why change something that OG did perfectly to make it worse?

bloom in wire puzzle is still too much and it made me blind during solving. puzzle level 3 is not that hard to do but its hard to see what the ♥♥♥♥ is going on. i hate bloom.

when you using mod that unlock full auto for AR if you stop shooting for whatever reason, you have to wait for 1 second in order to fire it again. so you cant mitigate the bloom by tap firing and this happen to only this weapon.

enemies can shoot you through boxes even if its covered their gun they will shoot through it especially the maintenance robot or any robots that are bigger than the box that are in front of them. basically, enemies can head glitch.

leaning left is terrible because the bullet came out from your gun so you will have a case where your bullet just hit a wall while shooting.

ending is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ terrible as expected from leaked ending. but the last cyber space is changed, it dragging for too long and purple and octopus enemy has too much health. purple guy take 15 shots to kill and octopus take 30s shots to kill. and your gun has very slow fire rate so it take like 40 seconds to kill this guy on average. and this is a wave base, 3 waves per section and you have to do 3 sections.

like are backers really play the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ game? or just there to be there just to boasting that you are richer than anyone. how did they let this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ garbage section go? when you playing this dont you think this is not dragging for too long? why is this warren 3 section of snore fest and each section takes like 4 mins to do. and not to mention that you can not see your health during this, why? the only way to see how much health you have is to look at your arm that start fading when you take damage. is this a good thing?. no its ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ not.

overall im disappointed. i dont know what drugs other game reviewers are on, but this is not ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ possible, why are backers that able to play this game for 2 months, 2 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ months earlier than anyone cant spot these simple problems and report it to ND? are ND just put to you play only 2222 or something? why are some of these problems are still in this game? it does not matter if you have 8-10 years of development if the play testers are this incompetent to find these simple problems. i will blame both backers and ND for this disappointment. what a terrible shame.

i like everything else outside what i typed here though. i gave this negative because it just unacceptable. this suppose to have the least amount of bugs as much as possible and these are bugs that i encountered on the first playthrough. like how backers and ND are this bad at play testing the game when you have this much time to fix it?

edit1: and now i try to 100% i got softlock by the game cause i cant pull lever after put 6 digit code in reactor level. unless using SAM to remove certain achievement. like GOD, WTF ARE THEY DOING FOR THE LAST 2 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ MONTHS OF FIXING THE GAME. this suppose to be fix BEFORE the game launch. what bunch of incompetents and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. ♥♥♥♥ you, for the backers that dont play the game properly when you have a chance to make the game better. ♥♥♥♥ you for ND for releasing this game in this ♥♥♥♥ states.

edit2: they are reworking the ending sections... post. launch. ofcorse they are, OF ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ CORSE THEY ARE. what'd you expect. these ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ backers are so afriad about hurting dev's feeling, while they are in the period where they actively taking critisisms and construtive feedbacks from you people to make the game better. for 2. WHOLE. MONTHS.(march-may)

you backers are not even care about the game at all do you? you only care about yourself. just to put your name on the credit to make you feel like you're a part of something even you're not doing anything significant, just to boasting that you're richer than anyone.

this is very fun to play but has something that's worth bringing up

- in game UI is very hard to read not the inventory or in computer they're fine. but the normal look UI, the number was way too small to read. and not to mention about you cant set keybind on each weapons, so you basically play RE4's inventory system and its in real time, sounds intense on paper, but its not very good design. you'll spend more time putting guns on your hands than shooting bad guys. or... using mouse wheel which is more annoying to use.

- the jumping feels... off, i had to redo a simple jump in purple room in the first level 3 times because how wonky it is, like the game was made without jumping in mind but put it in there because it was forced to.

- can not unload weapons. imagine you have 3 SMGs that has 5 shot in each gun you have to use all 3 and change it one by one instead of unload 2, drop them and keep 1, and combine with this inventory system, its not very fun to do.

- 60 fps cap. and its not very stable 60 fps, its drop while in combat from time to time.

- maybe it was because i play on brutal difficulty, but the enemies are not very well telegraph their attacks, it shooting at you the moment they see you, no detecting voice line or anything, they just shoot. its fine if you have a way to dodge it like leaning or crouching but no, you have to man fight. and its very supply draining, because they dont have a pain state like, say, blood or doom. they just take bullets like nothing and they dont feel anything. except headshots that is. and this leads to another point.

- lack of options. only weapons that can headshot is viable in this game, the rest of them such as plasma pistol, smg are just terrible to use. since enemy takes like 15 shots to kill while you can one shot them with pistol headshot. so why bother with those weapon and wasting lots of ammo.

- the punching audio is too loud than anything in this game

- also the face wiping is automatic so you can have a case, where your character start wiping his face when getting gunned down results taking more damage which is sucks. make face wiping manual please.

im looking forward to play this game more and i hope it gets better.

garbage, too easy and you can get the hand cannon just get "S" rank on just 1 character on all map, and only 3 maps are released in this one. can you stop ruining the classic, capcom? but normies love it and will say its "masterpieces" on anything anyways. what a garbage.

soulless garbage. this demake is unfinish and it just The Evil Within rip off. buy TEW and play those instead of this. you can buy both TEW1&2 with the same amount of this demake's price.


list of cut contents and garbage things they added:
leon's constant quips is annoying
2 giants boss is scripted now.
running away section from mendez before boss fight.
mendez's eye ball is just for sale, no use for opening door to castle.
no more 2 paths to choose.
grenade sucks now youll get a better version in castle but, why? why not give the better version at start and bring back fire nades? that's so dumb.
salazar statue turned into flame thrower now, garbage.
laser is garbage in this game you can look at it yourself.
no crane section anymore.
no bulldozer section replaced by wrecking ball which is lamer.
cant break doors.
cant shoot through doors.
the shooting giant with cannon section is lame.
puzzles are just matching thing too easy.
lava room was cut.
ashley's section is boringly long uninteresting.
minecart section is just set pieces now.
U3 boss was cut.
music sucks.
j.j was replaced by rapid fire crossbow cow head (this one is better).
no more drones.
navistadores are not invisible anymore just blend into objects(only 1 small section that is invisible just call it gimmicked).
saddler is not doing anything but keep saying "SaCrIfIcIaL lAmP" in dream sequence.
ada's voice sucks.
wesker's voice sucks.
merchant's voice sucks.
no "LUISSSSSSS" when he dies. (its fine)
no throwing knife at salazar.
salazar boss is worse than og, too much health.
saddler boss is worse.
krauzer is vergil wannabe now, and boss fight is even worse.
every bosses rely too much on magnum dumping(aka damage race), and results making every bosses play the same. new capcom is just so brain dead that they just make the boss as broken as they can because the "fans" dont care. so they can get easy money for it.
the worst part is that they make the game with striker charm in mind without it you cant dodge most of the boss' attacks and ganados.
the ending of chapter doesnt have a good looking wallpapers anymore just dark screen with smoke.

its terrible its a destruction of a classic, this..... demake.... is a disgrace. i will never going to pick this game when i want to play re4. as everything i said before and i want to add this. too much treasure in this game. like what is this? tomb raider or indiana jones or something? why there are so many of them. og handled this more appropriately. there's no sense of urgency here, from too much side area that you have to go, too much treasure and side quests that doesn't make sense. also leon's and ashley's moaning while theyre out in the open in village section is annoying "ahh" "egh" "haa" "huuh". and it just keeps going, just ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ stop....

this demake sucks. dont bother with this or just buy it on sale. only zoomers and people that has no standards in video games will like this.

this game is one example why i hate bloom and it should not be the main component of making levels. when i tune it down its too dark, had to turn brightness up, make my eyes hurts even more when in a bright areas. terrible.

gunplay is fine but i cant play for long. no.

expected to be good but it feels like back 4 blood over again.

melee need rework, it basically turn-base you cant play aggressive and go attack first, you have to wait for them to attack, dodge out of their way and return with 3 hits combo and repeat or else both of you will take damage. you can break this stupid cycle by shooting them, but the base melee combat need to be better than this.

if you going to make this 70% of combat loop. you need to make aggressive play style more viable, add counter attack from tekken or any other fighting game. perfect dodge make attack doing both more damage and add knock back, right now it just attack faster. i see potential on this, but the fact that you take dodging from one game(infinity blade) and do worse it just bad. good efforts though.

kinesis(GRP) is very overpowered you can grab every enemy in the game(except boss) and throw them in the spike traps that was in 90% of the levels and it just turn combat even worse, because why bother dodging-melee and crowd control when you can just throw all of them into the spike trap and get reward for doing it anyway.

lack of enemy types. if you stretch them out youll get like 10 but like... 5 of them are act the same as the normal enemies
when compare to dead space that has 9 stretch them you get like 15 it just feels lacking, at least better than re7 or re8 i guess... but its not enough coming from dead space devs.

ill give it 6/10 has potential, it can be better if you rework melee to be more rewarding and challenging, also reduce amount of spike traps on the maps or make them unusable after pinned one enemy. hope this get better on upcoming DLC but i dont expect much from it.
