Amazing game 9/10

It's almost as if Pixar collabbed with God Of War. This game really manages to pull you into its cute and immersive story. The cutscenes really make it feel like you're watching a movie, yet it's action packed with objectives and fights. Also, don't underestimate this game. It might look child friendly and easy at first glance, but the bosses get seriously difficult. I highly recommend you playing this game.

Cons
- The double jump always feels like it's just too short.
- Not necessarily a con, but the difficulties feel odd. I'm a casual gamer and I originally started the game on 'Spirit Guide' (3/4) and had a really tough time halfway through the game. It got to a point where I had to replay the first boss 15-20 times and at the second boss I decided to turn it down a difficulty after nearly 30 attempts.

Though I didn't expect much of it, I somehow managed to sink in many hours into the game. Like others have said, I won't deny that this game has a very similar feel to Vampire Survivors. Pretty much the same gameplay in a nicer skin (imo).

There is a variety of different weapon and ability combos to pick from. Having both a stage and suvivor mode, 'each' with different difficulty levels, you'll be entertained for a good couple of hours. With the built in point shop you can upgrade your base stats, which helped a lot. Controls on keyboard + mouse are what you would expect, but I actually preferred playing this on a controller, which works great! For the price it's definitely worth a try.

But... At the time of writing this the game is in early access, and the game still has its flaws....

Firstly, the game is poorly optimized. My 3070ti is being used at 100% during the majority of each run, which I feel is a little unnecessary given the graphics of the game. Depending on the chosen character upgrades the game will start to feel choppy, especially when there are A LOT of projectiles flying through your screen.

Secondly, the game lacks content. Sure you'll be entertained at the start, but once you played through the staged map a couple of times you'll be bored rather quick. The survivor mode did manage to bring an additional challenge, but that too got a bit stale after a while. The soulshop is maxed out in no time and I'm left with nearly 150k+ soulpoints which can't be spent on anything.

Lastly, due to the way the game is set up, not every run feels satisfying, as luck plays a big part during your run. Getting the same cards from rerolls and rarity rerolls is quite annoying. Getting artifacts too late or not at all sucks too. Some upgrades only appear in 1/10 runs and some upgrades are just not worth it due to them not living up to expectations. I find myself restarting or even quitting half of the time because the game just won't allow me to get the desired upgrades in time. As of now boxes only drop food or voids, which become rather useless further into your run.

TLDR:
Fun and addictive game, but it needs way more content and optimalization.

Fun game at first glance, but gets boring quick.

At first I enjoyed learning the controls, getting the hang of timing the actions and interacting with the map. Getting a smooth landing and a good take off felt satisfying and rewarding. However, that is also where the fun stopped for me. Once you learned the controls all that was left to enjoy were the different maps, which got kind of boring after roaming the planets. Don't get me wrong, if you're looking to kick back and relax this could be a fun game. It has some nice scenery and relaxing soundtracks. If that's what you are into this is the game for you, but don't expect much more from it.
