Kojimbus-san may have invented the Strand type game, but Pugscape-san have perfected the strand type game.

Simply put the greatest videogame of all time.
It hasn't aged very well though, so your enjoyment may vary.

I have not played a fighting game since Tekken 3 or 4 over a decade ago. I never understood the genre, and never really found it interesting if I didn't have friends to play with locally. But when I saw the first gameplay from this game, I was sold immediately. I'm a huge sucker for the Dragon Ball franchise, so it caught my attention instantly.

I bought it the first week of release and at full price, and I don't regret it. I quickly found some of my favourite characters, and started playing them. After seeing plenty of youtube videos I got excited and decided to actually learn and practice. To my surprise I had a lot more fun with the online matches than the singleplayer content. The game is super intuitive and makes it easy to learn and it does a good job of keeping your interest. Fighting someone online who does stuff you havn't seen before, and then trying to replicate that in practice mode feels great.

This game woke me up to fighting games, and I now happily play Mortal Kombat, Injustice and a few others. I'm still a massive scrub though lmao

If you think you will like this game, you most likely will, regardless if you're an experienced fighting game player, or just a Dragon Ball fan like me.

Never been a fan of Mortal Kombat before this entry in the series. A huge amount of content, and plenty to do offline if you, like me, aren't much of an online warrior.

The price is a bit steep though. Maybe wait for a sale.

My favourite "challenging action rpg // Souls-clone" game out there. I've played it for hundreds of hours on the ps4. The stance system is brilliant and some of the enemies are quite creatively designed. Even though I'm not a fan of the fact that the game has levels instead of an open-/semiopen world, I still enjoy replaying a lot of them for the sweet sweet loot. I'd recommend playing it, and I for one, am really happy a sequel has been announced.

What can I say that has't already been said? It's simply the best game released this century.

I spent so many hours having massive fun in this game.

Sure the story is bland. Sure the protagonist is a mass murdering super badass that shouldn't even exist in this beloved universe. Sure the devs tries to sell you loot boxes.
Sure sometimes you get royally pissed because you were surrounded by 30+ orcs and just when you're at your most vulnerable, a captian with the "No Chance" trait comes in and ******** you so you lose your fort and have to spend hours trying to get it back because all the new warchiefs are invulnerable to every offensive strategy you have, and also has to taunt you for 40 seconds+ each time they spot you.

But in spite of all this, the absolutely huge potential for fun simply by playing around with the nemesis system and the world, in my humble opinion, far outweighs the negative aspects of this game.
If you like open world action games, chances are you'll like this too, regardless if you're a LOTR fanatic or not.

Also, you get to ♥♥♥♥♥-slap a Balrog.
