Honestly, the game is a bit short compared to RE2 Remake, but if you compare the two, RE2R had two scenarios that weren't very different. If you pulled everything from the 2nd run that was the same as the 1st, you'd have a pretty short game there, as well. Also, probably spoilers ahead.

That said, the game is a blast; much more action packed than RE2R, and using a dodge mechanic in place of subweapons makes things a little more skill based. Landing a few perfect dodges in a row feels really ♥♥♥♥♥♥' good. The chase scenes are really fun, and Nemesis bursting through a wall, or landing in front of you when you don't expect it are great for keeping you on your toes. Seeing Raccoon City from another perspective is pretty great as well, and finding the little details or references to other Capcom games is nice, as a treat. The boss fights are pretty good, although I couldn't stop laughing during the last scene when Jill picks up a huge ♥♥♥♥♥♥' railgun. Nightmare and Inferno difficulty are cool additions, but they just kinda remix where a few items are, or give you less supplies. If you want an additional challenge, I'd recommend for sure. Would have been cooler if Capcom put in an actual randomizer mode, but it's really not that big of a deal, I guess.

Now, for the stuff that wasn't too great.
- Only one campaign, and no word on any DLC coming.
- No bonus costumes, besides one for completing the game the first time, and two pre-order ones.
- Nemesis only chases you through the streets briefly; everything after that is a scripted encounter.
- No real reason to replay the game, besides grinding out shop items.
- No S+ ranks, and using shop items such as unlimited ammo weapons and the stat-boosting coins, won't restrict your ability to get an S rank, which is the highest in the game.
- YOU CAN USE SHOP ITEMS FOR S RANKS. COME ON.
- In the unlockable concept art, it sucks to see drawings of other areas from the game that got cut. Not really that big of a deal, but still.
All in all, I got this as a gift, but the $60 price tag still seems a bit steep. I'm sitting at like 29 hours, and I've finished all but 3 of the achievements, with a couple records left to finish. Definitely feels a bit rushed, with Resistance tacked on to fill out the $60 price tag.

If you liked RE2R, you'll probably dig this, but I'd say to try and catch it on sale or something.

It's great if you wanna relive the old glory days of PC shooters. Once I played the first level, I was hooked, and after I had finished all 33 stages, I immediately went back and started a second playthrough on a harder difficulty. For twenty bucks, it's a steal.

Probably the only negative thing I have to say about it, is that there isn't anyone playing the multiplayer, and the hardest difficulty, Duskmare, is just a one shot and you're dead kinda deal, which is totally fine, but I was hoping for something a lot more difficult, not just "don't get it."

Either way, I'd still highly recommend this.

Game was gifted to me after my brother told me multiple times to buy it. The animation is smooth, and beautiful, the music is fantastic, and the gameplay is tight and challenging. Easily one of my favorite games of 2018, and I still go back to play it again or try to finish things that I haven't done yet.

Can't recommend this game enough.

Tight controls, challenging stages, interesting character design, and cool powerups make this one of the best Mega Man games I've played in forever. The Double Gear mechanic can help out newer players by slowing down time or powering up your shots, but it's even useful for experienced players, and I'm hoping that they keep it around for the next installment. The shop also has items to help out if you just need an extra life, or to get past that one jump you're having a tough time making, and there's more than enough of the game's currency to go around. The soundtrack is also pretty damn amazing, and normally I'd turn down my game's sound, but I left this one cranked. Overall, it's a great addition to the series, and if Capcom can keep up the momentum, I'll definitely be picking up Mega Man 12 if and when it drops in the future.

Seriously.

Reddit's panties are in a bunch, all because of what? Some microtransactions? They feel like they're owed something, and don't understand the concept of "Pay 2 Win", because they've been throwing that term out left and right. Sure, in a PvP environment, getting stats for a purchased weapon skin would definitely fit the bill. But, it's not PvP, it's co-op, and those miniscule bonuses aren't setting you up for an easy win.

This game is great, the DLC is always on sale, as well as the game, and if you listen to people online telling you not to buy a game because because a developer isn't slaving away to put out free content for them, then that's pretty terrible.

It's currently 75% off, and you get a majority of the "hurrr hundreds of dollars in dlc Overkill is greedy" content for a whopping $12.

Don't be stupid. Don't listen to children on the Internet.
