Great Game, eventually combat becomes very easy because just block to win.

I played the game for 2 hours, and I got to the part where you are in water and there's a timer. I made it through without any trouble, so I decided to see what happens if you allow the timer to run out. The time went out and I got a Game Over screen. No files saved, it expects me to redo everything from the beginning?? It's 2018, implement auto-saving because I am not playing all of that again.
Edit: apparently my rage blinded me to not see the fourth slot, (auto-save). Super quick response time and I guess now I have to finish playing the game. PS thank you very much for helping me because I was very invested in the story.
