PvE is virtually nonexistent. Between the lackluster amount of enemy types and fetch/delivery quests, there is nothing to do but fight other players. This could theoretically be fun but ultimately falls flat due to ships being repaired too easily, forcing players to board their opponent's ship which combines the clusterf*ck that is Sea of Thieve's gun play and the more than questionable decision to have players respawn on their burning, if not sinking, ship. This drags out both wins and losses to an excruciating degree. You landed a great shot with your pirate sniper rifle (which is a thing, apparently)? Well, tough luck - your opponent will respawn within a few seconds, having lost nothing in the process. If you do want to make any progress in winning a battle, set the opponent's spawn on fire and engage in the most bare-bones version of close-quarter combat you have ever seen. I appreciated the dev's decision to not have any gameplay-related progression at first but soon came to realize that without non-cosmetic ways to spend your gold and only three types of loot in any given quest, (wood, cannonballs and food) the game is forced to stand on its gameplay alone to keep me playing but hasn't put in enough depth to make that last either.

I am continuously being bullied into playing this game by my autistic brother and a so-called friend. Not only do I thoroughly suck at it, I am just good enough at understanding what the f*ck is happening to make out the game's issues. This is a cry for help, there are so many other half-way finished videogames I could be playing right now.
