An absolute masterpiece. Its been a while since I got this invested in a video game. Its not for everyone tho. I can see why some may find it boring but I had a blast from start to finish. Its immensely satisfying to go from... prey to predator. You must earn the privilege to be able to go toe to toe with the aliens (at least on higher difficulties). So keep in mind, it can be pretty slow at times.

I'm planning to play Mooncrash once im done with my next 2 achievement runs.

IMPORTANT
The only con imho is the absolute state of this PC port. Some settings dont seem to work and need to be adjusted through config files and GPU drivers. Even then it feels like something is not right. I'll try out some graphical mods on my next playthrough. I want to jump in again asap.

We really need more games like this.

Okay so... its musou. A typical by the numbers musou. Every level is almost exactly the same. I didnt have to change my tactics through the entire game. Its the same grind over and over again.
On the other hand the story is quite interesting. The characters are fun. So the main selling point of this game is definitely not the gameplay.
I literally beaten it on very hard just to see how sane i can be at the end.
Honestly, dont bother unless you're a fan of this franchise.

Fantastic game. Subpar port. I'll write a full review when physics and achievements get patched. Its perfectly playable (if your controller works), just less fun than the original version. Physics tied to the framerate are broken.

I remember this game being released back in 2012/13 and its a bit weird since then there's nothing else aside from a single chapter. But seeing how we got english translation in 2019 im a bit more optimistic. Maybe there's something to be excited about.

Okay so the game is only 1 chap plus super short extra chap. What is there is good in my opinion. Shocking content, sound design, easy but cool puzzles (what I mean is those wont stop this "flow" feeling you might have from playing the game), atmosphere its all there. Been a while (...7 YEARS?!) since I've played previous games so its difficult to compare those to this one. Idk, every time I play a video game and I go "...noice" I'm very positve.
The plot doesnt seem to be a typical ghost story either (from what we've seen so far). Feels fresh with all thats going on at the moment. I really like this hospital setting, all the quirks that we got, I really want to see how its gonna be resolved, and knowing COPA there's still a whole lot more to come.

Okay so now the things that are plain odd. So to my understanding Steam release is revamped version of the original edition from back in early 2010s. Despite all that I get this weird feeling that some sprites are lower quality and simply are not made for 1080p display. Its just not as sharp as it should be. Some gameplay stuff outright scream "TOUCH SCREEN" (to me at least). Other sprites seem a bit glitchy, for example during some scenes there's some weird kanji glued to those character .png files. My guess its just because we are essentially in beta stage of development.

So anyway, buy this game, play it and lets hope for chapter 2 to release soon. Grindhouse got my attention, I'm a bit excited. Might replay previous games (didnt play BD yet because I didnt own a certain obscure console).
After more content gets released I will make sure to update my review... whenever that might be.
HAPPY HALLOWEEN 2k20!

Higurashi is an absolute classic. I've watched TV series all these years ago. God, I really wish I could forget the story and relive it all again in the form of visual novel.
This chapter was always one of my definitive favorites. It almost reaches "lovecraftian" on horror scale, perfect prologue. Cannot say more, experience it for yourself, its worth it.
Will I read next chapters? Hahaha, we'll see, those VNs are super long.

P.S Hopefully mangagamer will release the newest Hou chapters one day+beta Higurashi arc. Fingers crossed.

So I think this sets up a prologue to the story that potentially may be interesting. For now its just too early to say if its good or not so let's leave it at that. (Tho teen angst cheese is kinda here, I mean the narration, but its charming, I like it)
Minigames are fun. They really give off this old arcade vibe, yeah I can definitely say they are fun (and unfair just like those games were back in the day... beating heart hitboxes). I wouldnt recommend maxing them out tho, I dont know how many times I've finished car game, and Im sure as hell I had 0 collisions and yet no achievement... how? I got kinda angry, maybe, and just gave up after this. BUT DONT GET ME WRONG, played casually its super chill experience.
Ofc I'm not gonna say anything new about graphics. One of the most stunning pixelartsy games I've ever played, srsly. I'm old arcade/PC-98 aesthetic junkie and this tingles my jingles in all the right ways.

So all in all if the price is right definitely get it. Hell, we may be in for something special. Waiting patiently for part 2.

Short but super fun (not counting the DLC). This game got me into this "flow" state, puzzles are rather on the easy side but oddly satysfying and clever at the same time. Sound design helps to achieve that, snappy as hell.
Btw, I'm not a huge fan of Burtonesque aesthetics , but its subtle and blends well with nightmare ridden deep state of sleep.

Not to mention, Darq's dev is based (and you know why).
