It's Quake-y, it's blocky, it's wacky, it has an extra exotic touch of being set in a Slavic country that isn't Russia, and the bosses are just the greatest. And if you think that a horse with a gas mask is the weirdest thing you'll fight in this game, oh my sweet summer little comrades.

What if a bunch of 90s teenagers didn't have to do homework and could instead make a totaly kool and awesum videogame? The answer is right here. And since the teenagers in question took their sweet time growing up, this is a very well-made game with a lot of care put into its creation.

Despite seemingly being abandoned before, this game is still being updated by passionate devs who keep in touch with the community, in what essentially is a complete opposite of TF2's situation. If you ever wanted to check this "payday but in ww2" out but decided against it due to lukewarm reviews, you might as well hop in and help the homies make this game more fun with your feedback. There's some massive skill system and loot bag mechanics overhauls coming up, maybe they'll even add a Luger somewhere down the line...

Pretty much everything about it is very well done. The puzzles are tough even on the simplified "story mode", the voice acting is great (if you can get behind Johnson's lip smacking), and a cool story. The music is top notch, too. At any rate, this is Portal 2: Episode 0 and it's completely free!

Retro style FPS with very fancy weapons that never stop being useful and very tight fast paced combat. There might be annoying platforming, traps, and sewer-like sections, but that is to be expected from the genre. Not a huge fan of the visuals overall, but gotta hand it to the game, the 2D sprite weapons with normal maps and reflections look amazing. The game only crashed twice on me, and only on activating the Soul Mode, and there are some janky-ass mover clipping instances, but otherwise the gameplay and level design is amazing. Also, memes, I guess. But no humanoid female enemies =(

Best described as Left 4 Dead but instead of Survivors you get Heisters and cops/mercs instead of zombies. The game has a MASSIVE selection of weapons and weapon modifications (and most gun models are GOOD), considering the game favors stealthy approach for most missions. Then again, the music does not. Plenty of difficulty levels, tons of features confusing for a first time player, frustrating achievements, and great voice acting with funny accents (most of the time). The game has modding support and the developers still create updates and patches, whether the ungrateful player base likes it or not.

The base game is rather cheap, and while you will be locked out of a ton of DLC content, it should be enough to find out whether you like the game or not.

10/10 would customize my character loadout for five minutes then run a mile, die in one shot and repeat again

The maps are amazing, and you cannot say "amazing" without saying "maze". It is a Swiss cheese of stairs and corridors full of snipers with submachine guns. Love the atmosphere and the metagame of being surrounded on all sides at all times. The characters are panicking, swearing, and die in one-two bullets. The movement and reloading feels slow like molasses, especially in comparison to the CoD games. The move-slowly-die-quickly formula, however, makes the game kinda frustrating. Also, armor in this game is similar to World of Tanks: you just always assume they have AP ammo, so you don't need it.

10/10 will never have to pirate again since the loss of my DVD
