Another great port by Nixxes. Tsushima scratches the samurai itch we've all had for a long time.

Fun game with a decent amount of content despite being in EA. At the time of review, it needs some QoL and UI polish, and you'll probably want to change some keybinds; but I love the complexity-thru-simplicity that they've created.

If you're holding off on buying Forbidden West because of Zero Dawn's disastrous launch state: buy it.

Update: seems to be working great for most Linux+Proton users too[www.protondb.com])
At least on officially supported platforms; i.e. not Linux, yet

H:FW Another Great PC port from Nixxes. No significant issues on my end (Win10,7900XTX). Only a few visual bugs (like an invisible machine once...) and hitbox derps (like arrows flying straight through someone's head).

The game looks gorgeous, even at medium settings. Be aware that Forbidden West has vendor-specific upscaling enabled by default; I was worried they would try to use it as a crutch, but I disabled it and was happy to see that H:FW is pretty well optimized and runs just fine at native resolutions (may need to turn down the graphics if your hardware isn't cutting-edge, but it still looks great).

When me and my friend played Zero Dawn for the first time, we didn't know that the hardest difficulty was intended for New Game+, and struggled like hell to "get good". I'm happy to say that Ultra Hard in Forbidden West lets us carry on the tradition of getting our ***es kicked; even more now that it disabled auto-aim. I could just be misremembering, but it feels even harder than Zero Dawn.

Not much else to say other than that it's a worthy sequel to Zero Dawn, and that both technically and subjectively: it's pretty darn good.

No invasive bull****, no nickle-and-diming DLC, no season pass. Just a solid game. I hope this trend continues.

Karlach is bestgirl, and Baldur's Gate 3 is bestgame.

BG3 is a breath of fresh air: no microtransactions/passes, no invasive DRM, no boatload of pointless collectibles. A no-nonsense *real game* which exudes the passion and attention to detail of those who made it.

I've never played D&D and I know nothing about the universe. I'm usually not a fan of turn-based combat, but BG3 still pulled me in. The characters are probably the weakest part of BG3 and that's a compliment. It has a lot of replay value. Co-op is very fun. Your choices really matter, and there are many possibilities that you wouldn't normally expect a game to allow or account for but BG3 does. No FOMO because there are so many natural paths of progression that it doesn't feel like "missing out" on content because you didn't XYZ; . The game lacks official mod support at the moment, but the community is already making a lot of cool things with limited tools / documentation.

If you think that you may be interested in this game, you'll probably like it.

TL;DR Buy it. Great game. Great value.

I can't praise this highly enough. It went on sale the day after I bought it, but I ain't even mad. The devs clearly care about what they're building because, despite being early access, it already has a polish that I find lacking in many games on steam over the past few years.

The quality-of-life features are excellent and make the game comfortable to play. Smooth; no painfully sharp corners that I find in most new survival/crafting games. No tedium! No time wasted working around bad and frustrating mechanics, no poor/clunky UIs, no excessive / slow inventory management, no forced micromanaging of your colony and colonists (optional). It makes the things that should be simple, simple!

There's a clear sense of progression with simple quests, escalating challenges, bosses, and your gear. How it approaches boss fights in particular is great with phases, themes, and their own gimmicks; boss fights aren't just pointless sponges. Proper preparation can become important on the harder difficulties. They also scale quite well in co-op.

The seamless unification of so many systems is wonderful! As you'll probably guess from reading all the reviews that say "it's just like X but...", the Necesse is an inspired hybrid: while the features certainly appear to take inspiration from the best elements and mechanics of some other games, Necesse comes into its own with how it refines and blends them together.

There are plenty of good mods on the workshop already, and I'm excited to see what the community will do with this game once its released and its code is more stable (after a full release, there will be less frequent large updates which means that mods will break less frequently and modders like myself will feel more comfortable putting in the effort required to make larger and more complex mods).

Admittedly it can feel empty and aimless when you reach the end-game by getting past the main quest line (fighting your way thru the game's various bosses), but that's to be expected AND it's also still in early-access. Well worth the buy, even as it is right now, and even if you usually avoid early-access. Strongly recommended if you like the genre.

To lead with my conclusion: the "Wildlands is better" sentiment is outdated: Breakpoint is a great upgrade.

I played Wildlands a lot - got to tier 1 and everything - but I much prefer breakpoint now. But that wasn't always true; I avoided this game at launch because I hated the direction it was going in. I only like Breakpoint now because of "ghost experience" immersive mode with the difficulty-related options cranked up to the hardest. No more looter-shooter nonsense gimmicks. I feel like it punishes me for messing up, and I'm actually scared to get shot or spotted.

There are more tactical opportunities, better graphics and animations, NPCs feel more solid (still not perfect and hard to explain, but enemies felt rather ethereal in Wildlands), gunplay feels better especially in close quarters, more utility items/grenades, and I love the injury system. It's nice how customizable the experience is, and that people with various settings can still play together easily.

I'm not a huge fan of 'classes', pvp, and raids; but those elements are there for those who want them and they don't really diminish the rest of the experience (unless you really want certain guns and cosmetics...). There are still lots of problems, like weapon stats seeming to be wrong, and some of the design decisions are just silly... But even still, I don't think "Wildlands is better" is true. I recommend Breakpoint over it.

Timesplitters 2 is great! As a bonus, they also included some "Homefront" game as an Easter egg; but it's not very good.

Awesome story. Great atmosphere and world. Good gameplay. Pretty good performance which has gotten a lot better since launch. If you can handle a frustrating channel, I recommend you play a new game (not NG+) on Ultra Hard! Had a blast!
