This is the perfect entry to the Yakuza series. As a prequel it does not expect you to know about any of the stuff that happened in all those other Yakuza games since 2005. PIus, this game is in the Top 3 games of the franchise, according to fans.

Should you ever get confused by the story, the different Yakuza clans and their members, there's also a neat notebook where you can read about everything that might have slipped your attention during the story mode's cutscenes.

Aah yeah, cutscenes. If you are allergic to those or to reading subtitles this game is definitely not for you, as the game uses hours of cutscenes to tell a pretty grim and dramatic story that really gets you in the mood to smash your foes. Remember, it's still a beat em up. And a very satisfying one at that. Beating up gangsters with chairs, traffic cones, motorcycles (!) or by throwing around other people never felt that good.

Don't be fooled by the cheap price, this game is very rich in content. The story alone takes about 30-40 hours. Then there are the substories. And management games for real estate and a night club. And minigames like karaoke, casino, retro SEGA arcade games, fishing, betting on underground cat fights... wait what?!

Yep, in contrast to the dark story this game features some of the best whacky Japanese humor. And it's just hilarious when the two dead serious protagonists of the game show some of their light-hearted side.
Pro tip: When you can choose between several answers in a conversation always go for the most absurd one. Thank me later.
