Trade messages are being deleted from trading forums across all games
This is annoying, I'm just trying to complete sets and the best place to post a trade message is on the trading forum for the relevant game. But so far as I can tell all [H] cards [W] cards messages are systematically being deleted from all games trade forums within roughly a couple of weeks of them being posted.

Or am I wrong? Can you point me to a game-hub trading forum where trading messages aren't being deleted?

Just to be very clear, I'm talking about the: Game store page > discussions > trading forums and not any group forums.

If that is true then take it up with the game owners or mods they choose to help with their hub, they can make their own rules and lock threads they want.

I don't think it's the game developers/publishers doing it, it seems to be uniform across all games

That's by design to keep those forums from being littered with tons of old threads that people forgot to close. Messages in game-specific trade forums are deleted after two weeks of inactivity. If you want to keep your post up, just edit it and re-save. Or post a "bump" to the topic to keep it active.

Steam rules says not to bump threads, knowing my luck I'd get a ban if I did that. 2 weeks is nowhere near long enough, 6 months would make more sense.

If you don't want to bump, then just edit the post and save. That refreshes it and lets it stay active. I've done it and I've seen plenty of others who do the same. Besides, "bumping" in those forums doesn't have the same stigma as other forums since it won't move your post back to the top. Game specific trade forum posts stay ordered by the timestamp of the first post only.

6 months would be horrible for some games. Active games can have hundreds of trade postings within a two week period. It gets worse for games with items that can be traded in-game. In my experience, it's never taken me more than 6 weeks to find a card trade in a game with very few players. Of course, that's with me actively searching rather than passively waiting on a trade to come to me.
