More stuff to promote already wildly popular games and less and less to help indies out or give others a chance to shine with the system.

I cannot tell you how much I see games like call of duty, assassin's creed, baldur's gate 3, etc in those deals, plastered all over the main steam store page, in the "more like this section" for nearly every game - even the ones that share absolutely NO similarities (even tags), and in various other places. Everyone already knows about these games. They are literally everywhere. They even show up in the steam announcement when you open steam and in the library...
Valve is teasing me because they know I want to play Help The King Get To The Toilet.

Where do we find that data for previous daily deals we have run? or is this only for deals going forwards?

It's great that they made a post right after Chris's article instead of keeping the tip only to his followers.

Honestly I'm not sure you are getting this right. Steam has been trying to make an effort to make the daily deal a bit more accessible to smaller games.
But if a game doesn't sell well initially, it's just not worth farther promotion. That's a feature not a bug.
Steam will obviously try to maximize those spots to convert into revenue, I think as long as you can prove your game has converted well into $$$$$ in the past, you will get a spot.
I still have my doubts about how well Steam helps initially to see if they convert well or not, but well, unrelated to the daily deals.

Great update. More control for developers is always a good thing. Steams very fair with this. Good games bubble up to the surface. It has to be somewhat curated, otherwise it turns into the wild west.
I've got rejection only up until now.
Maybe one day I will develop the game which is good enough to participate...

You dont need a "good" game, you just need a game with good sells (200-250k gross avg)
Can Adult Only games get into Daily Deal?

This is just not true. I released a small game as a solo dev and with moderate commercial success (but great reviews) Steam accepted it for their daily deal spot. It skyrocketed and completely changed the trajectory of the game as well as my future as an indie dev. As a solo Indie dev I think Steam is doing an absolutely amazing job in offering support to developers considering there are tens of thousands of us and we ALL want the best promo spots. My second game has also been approved for a spot just last week.

I'm also seeing amazing uplift in sales when games that I have Bundles with get a daily deal, so even if you don't manage to get one yourself, bundling with a game that does get the coverage will get you additional sales as well.

Or just develop it yourself :)
I didn’t realize at first those are fake games, but then noticed Bass ain’t biting — they already used it as an example before :) https://partner.steamgames.com/doc/store/assets/rules#4

On topic: kinda a pity that all curated placements and in general many common Steam features are not applicable for f2p games. Yeah, it’s possible to ask for some custom things, but still wish there was something accessible out of the box. F2Ps can’t even properly participate in major season events — only set some DLCs on discount.

It's the ten "future" games from the Steam 3000. They're all on my wishlist.
Ignoring doesn't always work in this section, for example Batman: Arkham Collection can't be ignored, he keeps popping up.

"The Steam Daily Deals Program Helps Boost Games Of All Sizes" and "We generally look for games that have consistently reached tens of thousands of dollars in revenue per month"

I don't know. The title says one thing, but it's not actually games of all sizes according to the post's content.
