SteamOS brewmaster update 2.115 pushed to brewmaster_beta

It has been a long time since the last update. We have not been idle. This update is huge. First, we have rebased our kernel changes on top of the latest 4.11 Linux kernel. We have updated all the graphics drivers. This update also switches SteamOS from the proprietary AMDGPU-PRO driver to the open source mesa driver. Our friends at Debian have released Debian 8.8[www.debian.org] so we picked up those updates as well. And of course it wouldn't be an update without the usual security patching.

Note that AMD Vulkan support requires that you opt into the Steam Client Beta.

Please be on the lookout for any regressions around game controller support, WiFi, or graphics.

This is easily the biggest SteamOS update we have ever done. Sorry it took so long but we hope this will give us a good base for quite a while.

I believe AMDGPU-PRO no longer builds with the new kernel headers. We do plan to move quickly to get improved AMD Vulkan support into SteamOS.

Also you will need to be in the Steam Client BETA for AMD Vulkan support to work - I forgot to mention that in the release notes.

That will depend on the feedback. Probably at least two weeks depending on how difficult it is to support the new kernel in the installer and how much beta feedback we need to address.

Great features. As soon as I started the update my screen went black and won't boot now... I do have some custom repos on there for Kodi though but they'd been stable up until this point. Will reinstall and try again without Kodi on Friday, otherwise maybe an issue with Nvidia drivers?
