As people have all gone for very earth like planets, with earth like rescores and life, and all presuming started with the same technology, there would not be so much of a variety of technology that we currently see.
(Example: Chainsaw Swords, Lightsabers, Plasma Cannons, Laser Batteries, Ion Cannons, Bolters, Blasters ect.)
Most of the faction's backstories completely go against that idea.
(There are only a handful of factions that actually go along with the whole 'lost colonies' thing.)
In the RP, people have already encountered an alien race extremely close to one of the supposed 'former colonies'
(That some how weren't discovered when those systems were first discovered, explored and settled?)
And last but not least...
Over 50% of the factions lore and backstory, contradicts and disproves everyone else's.
(So any hope of lore, story, history and the like can be pretty much kissed goodbye.)
That all in all makes very little sense, not to mention, would be very much impossible in terms of any attempted story, lore and rules for the RP/RP's setting. A few factors regarding this are:
The fact that who ever would hold the 'origin planet', would get a huge edge over everyone. Unless it was destroyed.
(Which can't be done for reasons stated below)
There are multiple people claiming different planets as the 'origin planet'.
(Should you make them all true, that means that they are not inherently 'human' and are merely a rather similar species. If you only give it to one that would be seen as completely unfair. And if you simply remove it, that means that half of the people need to redo their back stories)
