Madness vs Machines Bug Report Thread

Describe the bug: There's a pretty big bug related to the Rescue Ranger. It normally works fine everywhere, but if you buy projectile penetration, at the robot spawn your shots will just disappear if you fire the gun.

This looks like a Valve bug that only happens if the server's CPU is under extreme load. We have some ideas we can try to "patch it" but I will set the expectation right now to not expect this to be fixed. If you can find a reliable reproducible case, let us know. AFAIK this bug happens randomly and unreliably that it's difficult to track it down. - Hydrogen

Describe the bug:

Ever since the 2nd day of the Campaign, I have a lot of difficult upgrading my stuff because the "Upgrade Station" window keeps closing itself. I never had this problem in any MVM Server, neither I did on TT or CC, this started happen only now (I haven't made any "custom" changes to my TF2 either).

I believe that the script/plugin that is blocking the "Explode on Ignite" upgrade for the Gas Passer might be the reason. Why? Because I wasn't having this problem on the 1st day, and I remember that the Gas Passer was allowed on the first day too.

I don't have any screenshots or videos, but just keep going on upgrade stations that you'll eventually see the problem, where it closes itself and refunds all the upgrades you did to that "session".

Apologies if this is a Valve bug, I've never had this problem before, so that's strange. Right now it's kinda of a big deal, because I have to do upgrades in multiple "sessions", so I don't lose all my upgrades, and I tend to upgrade in a hurry fearing that the window is going to close.

Edit: I created my own server, and I'm currently sitting on the Upgrade Station window doing nothing, and so far, the window hasn't closed itself. So I think the problem isn't on my end.

I'm afraid I can't remember much. But it was the map with the magic card wheel on the fire themed wave, I think wave 3. The idea was that the foes had Suns on Sticks and Huo Longs so when the magic lights us on fire we would take more damage. Except the card only lit us on fire for a single damage tick. So the wave was woefully easy.
This is actually because valve broke that spell with Jungle Inferno's afterburn changes

I tested this myself on "koth_lakeside_event" and the afterburn effect worked as intended (I was a 125HP Scout that went to 45HP after the afterburn), so, I guess it's a problem with the map, then?

By "spell", you are referring to the Wheel of Fate cards, right?

Describe the bug: the upgrade station doesn't seem to work properly on teien, some of the buttons don't work at all and some only have a small clickable region. I've encountered this just yesterday as well. also all the servers had their ping spike past 300 just earlier

That usually happens if you've recently changed your resolution in Options. It may also happen if you have a program that changes the resolution of applications, such as Borderless Windowed.

I play this game with "-windowed -noborder" set in the Launch options, TF2 is a game that doesn't require using external programs to make it borderless windowed.

You can attempt changing resolutions and see if that works. You can always create your own server on any MVM map and check it first before joining a potato.tf server.

By investigating your video, your mouse size is much bigger than the game size, so it's mostly likely a resolution problem. Attempt working around the resolution settings in-game and what I've said above.
Restart your game and try it again. Also check if it happens on your listening server (type "map teien" in your console and run into the station).

10/09 edit: turns out to be a coincidence that it first started in teien, it was doing that in other maps afterwards until I played around with windows' scaling

Unsure if a Valve bug or not, so here it goes (I remember having read that Valve fixed this bug, but who knows).

Describe the bug: If a Dispenser is placed here, it can provide ammo and health from the outside. This is most likely happening because the window is too thin.

I have 26 tour points and i have not got the 2 gem stone. When I go into "Tour" I see the first gem stone. Is this a bug? I have restarted tf2 and steam.

Not a bug, the 2nd gem stone and onward are only awarded when the community reaches 25 stars and beyond. Considering you already have 25 tour points, you'll automatically receive the 2nd badge when everyone reaches 25 stars.
