Lights Out And Away We Go!

Hi everyone,

For the past decade whenever we posted anything on social media we'd be met with comments asking when we'd be making another PC game...

At long last we're thrilled to announce that Motorsport Manager 2 is happening.

When the rights to Motorsport Manager PC came back home to Playsport, one of the first things we wanted to do was to start looking after it again.

A huge thank you to everyone who played, modded, shared feedback, and was part of the Motorsport Manager community over the last 10 years. You guys have kept the game alive, and without your support we wouldn't be creating this sequel.

Now we can finally share what comes next.

Motorsport Manager 2 is in development and will launch on Steam in 2027.

You can wishlist it on Steam now on Motorsport Manager 2 Store Page!

To celebrate, we've included the original Motorsport Manager in the Steam Summer Sale for 80% off.

A proper return to Motorsport Manager on PC

We know it has been a long time since the original Motorsport Manager came to PC. A very long time...

The fact that so many of you are still playing, modding, discussing, streaming, sharing stories, and asking for a sequel after all these years means a huge amount to us.

This series never really left us, and it clearly never left you either.

So today, we’re incredibly excited to announce Motorsport Manager 2, a bigger, deeper, and more ambitious return to the world of motorsport management.

What is Motorsport Manager 2?

Motorsport Manager 2 puts you back in the role of Team Principal, building and running your own team.

You’ll hire drivers, build new parts, manage staff, nurture young drivers, expand your HQ, balance finances, shape your long-term plans, and make the big calls when the lights go out.

Tyres, weather, pit stops, strategy, development, relationships, pressure, mistakes, lucky breaks, terrible weekends, surprise podiums - all the things that make motorsport brilliant and painful in equal measure.

This time, the world is bigger. We’re expanding beyond the foundations of the original with Single Seater, GT, Endurance and more.

At its heart, though, this is still Motorsport Manager.

We remain an unlicensed game, freedom is one of the biggest advantages of Motorsport Manager 2. Real-world motorsport is an inspiration, not a limitation. We can draw from different eras, disciplines, formats, rivalries, and stories to create a motorsport world that feels authentic, dramatic, and full of possibility.

Build the team. Improve the car. Hire the right people. Go racing. Make the call. Live with the consequences. Build your racing legacy.

Evolution, not revolution

One thing we’ve talked about a lot internally is that Motorsport Manager 2 should feel like a true successor.

We don’t want to change things just for the sake of it. The original game had a strong core loop, and there’s a reason people are still playing it nearly a decade later.

So we’re building on that foundation.

The aim is not to throw everything away and start again. The aim is to make the game deeper, richer, more flexible, and more alive.

That means better race simulation. More interesting decisions. More ways to play. More room for player stories. More support for the community. More motorsport.

A more reactive race day

Race weekends are where the pressure hits hardest, and we want Motorsport Manager 2 to capture more of that feeling.

One of the big areas we’re working on is making races feel more responsive. In real motorsport, teams are constantly reacting to each other. A pit stop can trigger a chain reaction. A car stuck in traffic might try an undercut. A change in conditions can suddenly make one strategy look brilliant and another look disastrous.

We want the rival teams in Motorsport Manager 2 to actually race you, to make the best strategy calls for their drivers, to react to what’s happening in the race, not just follow a predetermined strategy no matter what.

Weather is also getting a lot more interesting. We’re bringing dynamic weather to MM2, no longer will a track simply be wet or dry, we will have weather systems that move across the circuit in real time. Wet races can be absolutely chaotic, different parts of the track can be experiencing different weather conditions and it will be down to your strategy and your drivers’ skill to deal with it.

That should create some properly tense calls.

Is it time for inters? Can you survive one more lap? Is half the track dry enough? Are you about to look like a genius, or have you just ruined both cars’ races?

The best Motorsport Manager stories usually come from those moments. We want more of them.

Built with the community in mind

Mods were a huge part of why Motorsport Manager stayed alive for so long.

We’ve seen the work people put into keeping the game fresh, creating new championships, changing data, building new challenges, and reshaping the experience into something personal. That has genuinely inspired us.

So for Motorsport Manager 2, mod support is not an afterthought.

We’re building with modding in mind from day one, because we want this to be a game that can grow with you.

New championships, new teams, new drivers, new racing worlds, strange ideas, serious ideas, full conversions, we cannot wait to see what people make.

Coming to Steam in 2027

Motorsport Manager 2 is coming to Steam in 2027.

We’re not ready to show everything just yet, but we wanted to finally let you know that the game is real, it’s in development, and we’re building it for PC.

Our full reveal is coming this autumn, that’s when we’ll be showing the game properly, including the first look at gameplay.

We’ll have much more to share then about race weekends, team management, the wider motorsport world, modding, and all the systems we’ve been building.

For now, we’re just very happy to be able to say the words:

Motorsport Manager 2 is happening.

Thank you

Thank you for playing the original.

Thank you for modding it.

Thank you for telling us what you loved, what frustrated you, what you wanted more of, and what you hoped the series could become.

This announcement is only the beginning, and we’re looking forward to sharing more with you soon.
