To fix the Gaben...

It was March 2016. I was rooting my Cleveland Cavaliers, who were losing to the awful Brooklyn Nets. I went to ESPN to check the final score. Another loss. The Golden State Warriors, however, did not lose. They were on pace to beat the Bulls regular season record of 72-10, which they did. In that time period, it seemed like the Warriors were indestructable, and were the best team to ever exist. My Cavaliers, in comparison, did not look nearly as dominate as the team that beat us in the 2015 NBA Finals. Things were looking grim.

Then the post-season came around. We swept Detroit, Atlanta, and beat Toronto in 6 games to make it to the NBA finals. The Warriors, however, were struggling. Particularly in the Western Conference Finals, in which they were down 3-1 at one point. However, they mustered up a comeback to win the series in 7 games and go to the NBA Finals.

Things, at this point, looked even more grim. The Warriors had faced so much adversity, everyone thought they would be more prepared and battle-hardened than the Cavs were, who won through the "weak" Eastern Conference. As the Warriors toke Game 1 and 2, it was beginning to look like the end for my beloved Cavs.

However, the Cavaliers responded emphatically in Game 3, beating the Warriors by 30 points. Things started to look good. If they could win Game 4 and steal Game 5 in Oakland, We could have easily won in 6.

Game 4, however, was a hope-crusher, as the Warriors dropped an NBA finals record 17 three-pointers to steal the game. The series was 3-1.

It seemed impossible. Headlines all over the news read, "NO TEAM HAS EVER COME BACK FROM BEING DOWN 3-1 IN THE FINALS" Things were looking worse than ever.

But then the Cavs stole Game 5 in Oakland. In one of the most unexpected victories in history, Lebron and Kyrie dropped 41 points each and torched the Warriors. Then the Cavs easily won Game 6 in Cleveland, thanks to the roaring crowd.

Next thing I knew, it was time for Game 7. In the longest 72 hours of my life, I hoped. The odds were against us, but I just didn't believe it.

Fast forward a couple days, and now here we are. Congratulations to the Cleveland Cavaliers for overcoming incredible odds, and to Lebron James for keeping the legacy more alive than ever, in a time where people were seriously doubting him. Thank you.
