Important Announcement about Star Wars Battlefront II

Since Gamespy has decided to drop all of their online support starting 31 May 2014, this means we will need an alternate method of hosting BFII servers. This applies to ALL and ANY 1.0 AND 1.1 SWBFII servers, meaning that if you wish to continue playing SWBFII online, you must get GameRanger. This is an important announcement that you need to share/link/copy-paste to any other BFII related websites and forums.

This will be our method of hosting all JS45 servers starting at the beginning of May. You must follow the instructions below to be able to join our servers.

First, download GameRanger at http://www.gameranger.com


Run the setup application and it will guide you through the sign-up process. You need a valid email address in order to complete the application. If you do not have one, make a Gmail account.

When GameRanger is installed, you will need to open the program and go to Edit, and choose Options, and click on the Games tab, and find BFII in the list and then manually browse to the location of the BattlefrontII.exe if it does not find it automatically (this can be found normally at C:Program Files(x86)/LucasArts/GameData/BattlefrontII.exe)

Once you have added BFII to the list of games, you can then find our game room and all other SWBFII game rooms in the main browser. Join the game room of your choice and click the Join button, then the game should start. It should automatically log you into your BFII profile (but not your Gamespy account) and then connect you to the server.

IF this DOES NOT work, then you may manually choose a profile, go to the multiplayer join list, and then choose LAN from the dropdown menu in the upper left corner. If you are connected to the game room, the host's server should now appear in the list after a short waiting period. You may then join it normally and have fun.

HOSTING your own game room is simple. Just click the Host button on the right of the main window, select BFII from the dropdown, choose your desired max player number and description, and check Allow late joiners, and uncheck Allow friends only and Allow Gold and Silver accounts only. Then click Start and it will launch BFII, then you can go to the Create tab and choose your settings as you normally would. Other players can join your server using the method described above.

Some important things to note about GameRanger:
GameRanger has a premium account system. There is a 50 friend limit for free users. You do not need to be a friend of Marine Girl to join the SNFF server or any other JS45 hosted server. It will always be open to everyone provided they follow the rules of the server.

Because of this, we need to spread the word about how SWBFII will be played in the future.
