HOW TO PLAY ROCKET LEAGUE in VR
• Click here for the STEAM PAGE
Detailed Video Tutorial is here: https://youtu.be/28l6akoJZ58

Step Set1 - Software you will need:
• Jump in CHAT (above) for help or to play in VR
• Get Rocket League free (STEAM PAGE or EPIC link in pined reply below)
•Depth3D VR Companion App (Free): https://mega.nz/file/yIoyHDjZ#1AN73XlZ7vBvnMz4xUligmM3zWYT-AVpKxa6-neVelM
•Or Virtual Desktop (Paid):
https://www.oculus.com/experiences/quest/2017050365004772/
•Geo11 files:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/11ktwAW5cVIDVWW02X4djn9yR8TSvObnF/view?usp=sharing

Step Set2
Unzip the Geo11 zip file into the same folder (the Win64 folder) that contains the RocketLeague.exe file. By default, this is located here:
C:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\rocketleague\Binaries\Win64
You can find this by going to Rocket League in your Steam Library, right click on it and select MANAGE then select BROWSE LOCAL FILES. Then go to the BINARY folder, then the Win64 folder. That is where you need to unzip the Geo11 files into.

Now you have 2 options, you can use the free app called Depth3D VR Companion App, or you can use the Paid app Virtual Desktop.
1. Using the Depth3D VR Companion App.
1.a.Install the app.
1.b.Launch the app from the desktop shortcut. “VR Companion App Launcher”.
1.c. Make sure your VR headset is already connected and working on your PC.
1.d.Select your VR API from the menu (i.e. SteamVR, OculusVR, WindowsMR).
This will launch you into a space void with stars and your desktop screen right in front of you.
1.e.Once you can see your desktop, launch Rocket League from Steam.
1.f.Rocket League will show up in a Side-by-Side format. Press the RIGHT control key on your keyboard and it will switch it into 3D SBS mode. If you press it twice it will go into another mode that we don’t want. And if you press it a third time, it will go back to just mirroring what’s on your physical monitor.
1.g. Now you will see Rocket League in 3D.
You can press the TAB button to see the keyboard shortcuts to change the screen setting like make it larger or smaller, raise it up or lower it, and you can also curve the screen to wrap it around your FOV to your liking.
I recommend using a controller, rather than the keyboard, to play Rocket League.
Also disable dynamic shadows in the video settings of Rocket League because currently they don’t look right using this 3D method.

Step Set3 Using Virtual Desktop.
2.a. Connect to Virtual Desktop as per usual, or follow the instructions that come with Virtual Desktop, Quest version or SteamVR version.
2.b.On the Quest version, once you’re connected to your PC from Virtual Desktop, open Rocket League from Steam.
2.c.Point your controller below the bottom of the virtual desktop screen and press the trigger. A menu of icons should appear, select the one on the left that says HALF-SBS when you point to it. Now Rocket League will show up in 3D.
2.d.You can select some environments in Virtual Desktop that will also allow you to make the screen larger or smaller, closer or further away, and also move it up and down and curve the display around you.

Step Set4
If you would like to tweak some of the 3D settings, like separation and convergence, you can do the following:
1.Open the file named “d3dx.ini” and change the line that says hunting=0, to hunting=1 and then save the file. This will enable the on screen display of Geo11.
2.Open the file named “d3dxdm.ini”. Change the line that says dm_stereo_enabled = 0 to dm_stereo_enabled = 1. This will then show the 3D settings on the on screen display.
3.Run Rocket League. You will now see the Separation and Convergence values. You can increase or decrease the separation values by holding “ctrl f4” and “ctrl f3” respectively. You can also increase or decrease the convergence by holding “ctrl f5” and “ctrl f6” respectively.
If you change these values to something you like, you can save them by editing them in the “d3dxdm.ini” file where it says dm_convergence = 1024.0 and dm_separation = 8. You cannot save them from the on screen display. You must edit the ini file manually.

For best visuals what I like to do is to enable 4K upscaling in the ini file. You have to first set your PC monitor to 4K and if your monitor doesn’t support 4K then if possible enable 4K in the Dynamic Custom resolution and then set your monitor to that 4K resolution. I then set the game video resolution to 2580x1440 and with the upscaling set to 4K it gets upscaled to 4k and saves a ton of performance. I also recommend if you’re using the Oculus software to set the refresh rate to 90hz. Also while it DOES give you a greater sense of immersion by wrapping the screen around you and having it closer to you, it however also can make things look less sharp. I like to have the screen a bit away from me to keep everything looking crisp and sharp as possible. I also set MSAA to …

To get the best visuals:
Upscale to 4K (or just run at native 4K if your system can handle it), and set the Oculus Desktop software, if that’s what you’re using, to 90hz at least, or go higher if your system can handle it.
To upscale to 4K while keeping good performance, your display must first support 4K, if it doesn’t natively, set it as a custom upscale resolution if possible. Then you can “upscale” to 4K from the ini file. In “d3dx.ini” change the line upscaling = 0 to upscaling = 1. Now you can set the resolution of your game to anything that gives you good performance and this will upscale it to 4K. I recommend setting the game settings to the highest resolution that still gives you good performance frame rate and if it’s less than 4K then use this upscaling feature in the d3dx.ini file. I have mine set to 2580x1440 and I upscale that to 4K.

Step Set5 - First Person View
To get it to run in FIRST PERSON view (as if driving in the car):
download BakkesMod here: https://bakkesmod.com/download.php
Install it, then update it from FILE -> CHECK FOR UPDATES. Allow it to update.
Close it after it updates.

Install the First Person mod. Go to https://bakkesplugins.com/plugins/view/34 and click on the blue button that says INSTALL WITH BAKKESMOD. It should open a prompt requestion permission to launch plugininstaller.exe. Accept the prompt and it will then open a command window that will do this and inform you of it’s update.

Once this is all installed, CLOSE BakkesMod.
Connect to your PC using your VR HMD of choice. Then open VR Companion App Launcher and select the option that fits your VR API, for example, if you’re using the Quest, select OCULUS VR, if you’re using a Valve Index, select SteamVR, etc..
Once you’re in VR and see the desktop screen using either the VR Companion App Launcher or Virtual Desktop, BigScreen Beta, etc., then open RocketLeague. Rocket League should open in SBS mode now. Once it’s opened, alt-tab out back to your desktop and then run BakkesMod. If you run BakkesMod BEFORE opening RocketLeague, RocketLeague may fail to run. Wait for BakkesMod to say: “Injected, press F2 ingame for optoin”.

Then alt-tab back into RocketLeague. Make sure you set it to SBS in the VR Companion app by pressing right-ctrl, or whatever method needing for your app of choice, (i.e. BigScreen, Virtual Desktop, etc.). After about 10 seconds or so you should be able to press f2 and see the BakkesMod menu open. Go to the PLUGINS tab, go down to FIRST PERSON CAMERA and you should see it enabled. BakkesMod only works in the training mode and private matches ONLY. It does NOT work for public online matches.

Step Set6
Also when doing a private match you MUST set the time limit to UNLIMITED. However you can set the goal/score limit to anything.

Also if not using ball camera (that’s when your camera is always facing the ball regardless of your car position), I would recommend DISABLING the BALL ARROW found in SETTINGS – INTERFACE – BALL ARROW <-UNCHECK THIS. This is optional but I think it looks weird in VR.

That’s it. Have fun!

When I unzip Geo11 and run RoketLeague I can see for a moment the SBS 3D but then it closes by itself and I can't play, how can I fix it?

I have a 3840x1080 90Hz virtual screen and I activate SteamSBS (theater mode) using my script (ToggleSBS_SteamVR.bat):
for /f "tokens=2* delims= " %%A in ('reg query "HKLM\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Valve\Steam" /v InstallPath 2^>nul') do set "SteamPath=%%B" set SteamVRBinPath=%SteamPath%\steamapps\common\SteamVR\bin\win64 "%SteamVRBinPath%\vrcmd.exe" --mailboxcmd systemui_dashboard toggle_theater_stereo
