Grand Strategy General is a public Steam community created for the discussion of grand strategy video games. All gamers are welcomed!

Games and Events

As a grand strategy-centric group, multiplayer games and sessions are a fundamental part of group activities. Due to the lengthy nature of these games, individual sessions can run as long as a day or two to several weeks. These sessions require a large amount of off-game organization and communication to ensure continuity and enjoyment.

With that in mind, this group was designed around fostering the organization of these multiplayer sessions. The group chat, bulletin board and forums are all created and opened specifically for hosts and players of these games.

Announcing the Rebrand to Grand Crusader Kings III General

That's right, /gsg/ is becoming /gckiiig/!

In honor of Paradox Interactive's premier grand strategy title, Crusader Kings III, and its incoming new expansion "Tours and Tournaments", we have to pivot our group from all grand strategy games to a full-fledged focus on Crusader Kings III.

Crusader Kings III has been Paradox's most doted-on title since its release three years ago, with essentially limitless hours of content and gameplay, constant releases of fan-favorite expansions and DLC, and deep lines of communication from Paradox to the community that address our wants and needs. This game keeps even the most war-hungry lords and ladies sated.

We look forward to meeting you at the jousting lists at our next Daily Game multiplayer session!

Johan - An Open Apology

After the events of today we have decided to take a step back and have a moment of self-reflection; and after discussing this internally at great length amongst the team we have only one thing to say: Johan, We're Sorry.

We know that no apology is enough to undo the great harm that has been done, but we wish, humbly, that we can at least to start to rebuild our trust with Johan and the wider Paradox Interactive Developer Studio.

We make no excuse for our behavior, but we plead with you to acknowledge that we are but mere humans, and grievous as they may be, we make mistakes. In a moment of Weakness and Anger we betrayed a relationship that we held, and continue to hold, so dear to us, as we were enticed and tempted by the Dark Side.

We are pleased to announce that we have all taken full refunds for "Superpower III" and have invested this $30 to upgrade our Victoria 3 pre-orders to the Grand Edition. Furthermore, we will be hosting weekly giveaways up to the release of Victoria 3 to ensure that everyone gets a chance to play this great game. We know this in no way makes up for our actions, but we hope that it, at the least, shows our sincerity and commitment to rebuilding the trust that we have so grievously broken.

We hope that you can find it in your heart to forgive us. Johan - We're sorry.
