@Albeoris is it possible to make the Menu (and maybe the battle menu as well) run at 60fps to smooth out?

I remember that the PS1 ver. all windows menu runs at 60fps independent of the gameplay fps.

I would love to see those menu at 60fps again.

BTW: Congratulations your mod is amazing, thank you. ^_^

Considering Square Enix locks their games at 15-30 FPS (15 for battles in games like FF IV), it might be difficult to do so. You sure the PS1 version menus ran at 60 FPS? Don't think ANYTHING ran at 60 FPS on the PlayStation 1.

@Albeoris modded the battle fps already, so maybe he can mod the menus to 60fps as well.

Nowadays it's rare find a game that runs 30 or 15fps ingame but has 60fps menus, from PS1 era that was normal, and of course there was games that run 60fps on PS1, games like Chrono Cross (most on menu, rare times in battles) Castlevania SotN and pretty much any 2D games I think.

Yes, the original PS1 version had the menus running at 60fps: world map, battle, etc.

Anyways, this mod has been amazing so far and I thank you for all of your effort! :)

I did run into a small bug though, Zidane's Mug ability doesn't seem to be working. I made sure that I had it active and tried again, but he just steals without dealing damage.

Thank you once again!

Menus, maybe, but doubful that actual gameplay was. Chrono Cross could run pretty smooth, yes, but I don't think it was 60 fps. SotN definitely was not. 2D games actually had a slower framerate, due to how the PS1 rendered sprites and transparencies.

why the fuck do you need 60 fps menus

I'm wondering the same thing, I'd much rather have a properly sized menu.

Exactly! This is more important.... not 60 FPS menus, but reducing that finger-based touch-screen-sized BS!

This mod is really awesome! I'm never playing without it again! Especially the faster fights makes this game worth playing in 2016!

Hm. Can you share save files? It should work.

Less input lag, smoother scrolling?
If the difference is visible to the eye, which it is. Then why not? Of course, the UI itself needs to be made more like the original game. Someone was able to do it for FFIII somehow.

That isn't so much dependent on the original game's engine but modifications to make it behave more to our liking for a PC port. The trick with the majority of these ports is that they are moddable to some degree, but as far as the iOS-to-PC ones, not so much. FFIII was an exception to this rule, and we have IcePenguin to thank for that.Just wish the menus were actually faster than the original DS/iOS release, though....

So you are now able to extract backgrounds, possibly insert different ones?
BONKERS 13 OCT 2016 a las 5:11 p. m.
If you could, you'd be my hero. Getting around that ridiculous tiled background crap would be a miracle.
