ABOUT Anti Scammers United

This group is to report and show of scams that are out there

Scams are common in the Steam Community, I'm here to help!
Types of scams:

1: The Basic Scam
Promising Items if you give them the items they want first.
-How to Avoid? Tell them to ethier trade something reasonable or get the fuck out.
2: PayPal Scams
This one I would avoid all together. Basically you trade "said person" for an in-game item in promise for PayPal cash.
-How to Avoid? Don't do it at all. Play it safe and don't bother for cash you greedy bugger.
3: Links from Phishy People
These are links that have you "login" to a fake Steam Community Page. They often start off with the following: "Hi, my friend wanted to trade you his unusual but is unable to add you" Then gives you a link. Their profiles are either private or have no hours in ANY games.
-How to Avoid? Don't click on a random link. Always check the person you are adding or is adding you. Remeber, don't trust ANYONE.
4. Trade Offer Scams
These are scams are a range from hiding an expensive item with a pile of crappy items to "Offical" website bots that ask for your items.
Ex:

"Penguino offered you a trade:
Greetings from csgolounge!

Your offer has been marked as a possible duplicator.

In order for your trade to be processed/bumped at csgolounge. We need to confirm that the item has been legitimately obtained.

This will be completed by our bots checking that the item is trade-able. Within 5 minutes of you confirming the trade the item/s will be sent back to you.

Failure to accept this offer will result in your Steam account being permanently banned from {LINK REMOVED}.

Protection code: DUP387 (?)"

How to Avoid? Always keep an eye on what and who you're trading with. Do backround checks on the person sending you these trade offers. Always make sure that the offer is fair before going through!

@HerpDerpMapleSerp, I can confirm that. He works with his other administrator to scam people. I know this first-hand because they just scammed an unusual from me today.

JDoZar is apparently a scammer, making this entire community very ironic.
