The server is indeed RIP. The decision was made late last night when the bills came due. We were not even 1/4 of the way to paying for this month's bill. We made it last month due to the generoicty of one member Sin.

The reason to end the server was not just financial but two other factors. First was that keeping admins active was almost impossible. Keety, Cronix, Sin and I did everything we could but the lack of planning by the devs caused most of us to burn out and finding suitable admin candidates is hard when there is no real way to track if they are abusiung powers.

The other part to this is that the game is on a slow downward spiral. You can see the exact values on SteamCharts but the member base that actively plays is getting smaller and smaller. This has led to issues getting a reasonable number on the server. The average players is only 13,000 but the peak was 53,000+. As more and more people quit, the servers that have a population of 50+ will just keep getting the new players. Where will the game be in 30 days? Was it worth the admins but mostly me shelling out 160 dollars to meet our funding goals? If we did throw the money at it, how many days until the server was just empty? 10? 20?

The devs have shuffled members away from the project internally, so their production speed will drop. The road map will drag out for years, and the desperately needed content like siege mechanics, proper building decay, etc are a long ways off.

We came to the decision that it is not viable to try and grow a community at this point in time or maintain a decently populated server. Will we try again with this or another game... absolutely. Just not right now. Thank you to everyone who joined us for the past two months that we ran the server and stuck with us though the issues and wipes.
