A Union War of Rights New York Company

General Description:
Our Company, Company A was officially formed the 5th of February, 2018 by Captain Higgins, Lieutenant Marksten and Sergeant Kass. The Company then went through its development phase until official recruitment was opened for both those currently playing the game and those who will play in the future. We are a Company whose goal is to create a historically accurate representation of how a Company was ran during the game’s time period of 1863 during the American Civil War. This representation includes drill, combat and administrative actions. We understand the game has limits and we will work with those accordingly. We will strive to achieve an accurate portrayal of how a Company was operated within these limits.

Historical Description:
The Regiment our Company falls under was mustered in as the “Union Guards” on the dates of August 6th to October 30th, 1861 and was then consolidated into a battalion of four Companies on June 25th, 1863 (A, B, C, and D Companies). The regiment later received an influx of enlisted men on July 4th, 1864 from the 82nd U.S. Infantry who formed five more companies (E, F, G, H, I and K which consisted of recruits). The Regiment has a lengthy service history, to include the battle of Antietam where losses were 224 men total. The Regiment was mustered out June 30th, 1865 at Munson’s Hill, Virginia.
