Steam Game Recording No Audio

I've been trying to get recordings working of Battlefield 1 but Steam isn't recording the games' audio. Any Idea what the issue is? Best I can come up with is the game needing to launch through the EA app is getting messing things up.

I have the same issue with Battlefield 2042.

The only way to record game audio is to set it to record all system audio. But I don't want that, because then it will also record Discord.

So, not much help from me unfortunately, but you're definitely not alone. I hope this gets fixed soon.

I am also experiencing the same problem with all games. It just stopped recording audio about 2 days ago.

Common issue with many steam users. Best thing to do is post on here and write a ticket per person to steam support. Do not write multiple tickets. Only one per account. The more accounts provide info about this bug, the more faster it will be fixed in a new patch.

I am having the opposite issue. My recordings will record ONLY the audio and the picture is just black.

Mine recorded sound yesterday and today all recordings have no audio.

Mine will be black but when I scan the video while in the clipping mode it will show, but only if i am holding the yellow line. When I export the video is fine. Also says that it cant show video of recording. So if its the same you may be able to still get your recording.

Same issue here on the live build. Seems extremely inconsistent - one recording will have full audio, the next won't have any audio at all. The video records just fine, but audio is just absent.

Given the convenience of this feature, it's extremely frustrating that this crucial part of it is so unreliable.
