Hello, I made this publication with the intention of knowing why they removed the music player, it was the best way to listen to music without having to open a third-party one... :/ That only bothers me, the others are fine

+3 same, I would like valve to add all the functionality back, I liked hearing all my non-videogame music in there, and taking into account this is the steam deck default music player, they really need to enhance it a lot

It makes no sense they only allow steam sountracks to be played now

the point is that you cannot longer add non-steam music to the player, is only the DLC music that you buy on steam now.

Although most of those who use Steam rarely or never use the built-in music player for local audio files, I personally appreciate the feature's existence as I don't want to have a extra program running just to fulfill a near-similar purpose.

A official explanation as to why local audio files aren't supported (in the beta client specifically), while optional would be appreciated.
