How do you use steam overlay in XBOX wireless controller input mode in steam link app with bluetooth?

For example. I wanted to toggle between Friend chat and games using my XBOX wireless controller in my android phone to send a remote play together request to my friend while I am out of home. But all I can do is only when the app is in touch screen mode to enable steam overlay to send the remote play together request to my friend. While there's no avail to do so with using XBOX wireless controller because the in-game touch screen overlay is auto-disabled. How can I send a remote play together request in this way.

Note that you can't using XBOX wireless controller to launch the game first, then switch out to the steam link app interface to change the input mode. Then using the in-game touch screen to send the remote play together request to your friend then switch back to your XBOX wireless controller mode. Cause your xbox controller input mode has been decided while launching the game, not after entering the game.

You can do a four finger tap to bring up the overlay or you can hold down the back button on your controller to bring up the controller overlay for additional functionality.
