Unresolved Issue with Mac Steam Dock Icon (Needs a FIX)
Whenever playing a game in full screen on steam on mac and you get a chat message which when you have the steam icon in your mac dock it will bounce to notify you "hey you have a message and bounce non-stop in case you didn't get the message the first 25 times" its really annoying and this need to stop. there need to be a setting to disable this from happening.
(1) by supporting steam with Apples macOS Notification system in mac's system preferences/notifications ... since its not in the list and would benefit being there.
(2) just stopping the steam dock icon from bouncing when getting a new message.

I agree with this. It's been years, and it's never even clear why the app is bouncing.

on windows, the steam icon in the task bar (bar of running processes with a user interface; which is kinda like the dockbar on a mac), the steam icon also tends to flash (begging for attention due to some notification), although not forever.

I think this is part of the setting in "Steam Friends": Settings > Notifications > Make window flash 'always' setting, but not sure.

If it isn't, consideirng I have no experience with macos whatsoever, I am just wondering. Can you not disable 'notification support' in some setting on the OS somewhere? I mean, even with it disabled Steam will make sounds and whatsnot when you get a new message and I realize mac has been trying to be more like a tablet than windows, although with each update windows just follows that appeal lately.

well apps bounce to let you know that app needs your attention. Much like apple thy love to know give you access to these settings in the notifcation settings in macOS; they take our money though ;). as for steam setttings uh i dont recall if that did anything. but apps still bounce it got to a point i just deal with it. (that what apple wants us to do anyway)
