Check my post on the other thread :)
i hope they fix it, since it is super annoying
Going on 4 months or so since the bug was re-introduced. I'm not confident that Valve is even aware of its existence.
open steam console by pressing windows+R, typing steam://open/console
type either:
nProductInfoUpdateInterval 0
or
nProductInfoUpdateInterval 2100
the number is time in seconds between updates, however using 0, while it does completely eliminate the stutter, makes steam use a small amount of cpu and network. the 2100 setting has no impact on performance. the max you can use before it breaks is 2100 (35min). default interval is 900
you can also force an update whenever you want, (this also resets the timer) by typing in
update_app_info
you need to do this everytime you restart steam
I tested it with wireshark and it seems to work, but i can't test it in any games right now

the appinfo fix is the last one mentioned
Typing this command results in an error for me: "command not found: update_app_info"
Do you get the same message?
Nice, I found the nProductInfoUpdateInterval "fix" a while ago by myself but didn't know what the cutoff point until it broke.
Works fine for me.
Seems you have it back to front. It's app_info_update
Unfortunately the timer adjustment is less effective the more games you have in your library. I'm past the point where any time adjustment at all works - anything higher than default essentially breaks the client and makes the lag constant.
It has.
Or seems to at least. Possible certain users are still afflicted, for unknown reasons.
Oh ya, well that's true but I am going to say that for 99% users I'd imagine it's fixed including Slunkee here. Feel free to post otherwise if not the case because I remain curious.
