games show an incorrect amount of time played in the last 2 weeks.
I have lots of games that I haven't played in a long time that show some random amount of time played in the last 2 weeks.
For example the game Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes correctly shows last time played as january 18th, but it also incorrectly says time played in the last 2 weeks to be 72 minutes.
About half of the games that I haven't played during the last 2 weeks seem to have this problem. The shown amount of time varies anywhere between like 40 minutes to 15 hours after looking around a bit.
These incorrect values persist even after exiting and reopening steam.

This is not in the steam client beta.

Same issue for me. Various games, even not installed ones since ages, have values within the played "last 2 weeks" stat.

Ditto - I don't know how long it's been like that, just noticed today. Random minutes of game time played in last 2 weeks in some games I haven't touched in many months/a year.

I know we just had an update. Found this post so here I am to confer.

Boy, I´m glad I´m not alone with this. These wrong 2-week-playtimes are displayed since 3 days ago for me and I didn´t find anything online about this bug. I´m not even in the client beta as far as I know.
Now let´s hope this gets sorted out for us - perhaps it was a one-time-occurrence, and it´s gone in a couple of days (when the wrong playtime gets out of the 2-weeks-window).

Same issue here, just noticed today when I restarted Steam. Seems to extend back to all games I've played within the past three years (to the date!) and then no further than that.

I have this too! haven't played games in months but it shows I have play time in the last 2 weeks, there's no unusual activity on my account and I've had 2fa on for ages

Nope, definitely not fixed. Confirmed by Steam Support via ticket but they are aware. The problem you're describing with your fix is a Steam Cloud Sync issue, which is another different bug :)

Can confirm, shows for me the playtime from last session, even if that session was years ago (that's why most people report "random" amounts ranging from 1min to 10h). Opening the game's page and opening the library again (NOT using the back button) makes it display the correct time for that game. As far as I can see completely visual bug limited to the library UI, recent activity on my profile and for example SteamDB is correct.

I have the same issue. Some games that are in my favorites show played times in last 2 weeks but I haven't played them at all since months or even longer. I have 2FA on by default as well. Thought it was rather odd and therefor Googled it and then saw this appear, so I'm somewhat glad it's not just me.

Man, I'm glad I'm not alone. I've been seeing these discrepancies and have noticed games that aren't even currently installed have time played in the last two weeks. Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things, perhaps, but I hope they fix it.

It maybe game dependant. Somehow I am missing 4 hours of playtime in a game where my savegame says I played for 27 hours, and steam says I have 32.
I died a few times but not with a 4 hour distance between them.
idk, I think Steam is counting time faster.
At the very least it starts counting before the game is even launched and doesn't care if it is broken or not,
but this specific game, is a working RPG and to get to load your savegame from pressing Play on Steam, you need like 5 seconds, so... idk. I honestly don't know where the extra hours come from. 4 is a lot of time.

I recommend at least raising the tryout period, because especially with modern games, you maybe sitting for an hour or more just to get through the introduction cutscene (movie) and still need to complete the tutorial.
And pcs require load time. The two hour period doesn't make any sense.

Edit: I just checked a few games I played in the last two weeks. Somehow, with one particular game at least, the Last Two Weeks say I played it for 36 hours, and Steam, in the library says I played it 'in total' for 35 hours. So I noticed the Last Two Weeks measurement even goes beyond what you played a game in total, funny enough.

but anyway what I ment to say is that this thing may require more testing and perhaps an actual clock.

I have found that if you open the game again then it will permanently change the 2 week time so all my games say 1 min which is better than nothing. I have also found that if you move the game to the hidden library then it resets back to zero but once you close everything down and reopen then it's back to whatever random time it started with. I contacted Steam and they didn't say anything of value but I really hope this gets fixed in the next update because my OCD has kicked in hella with this bug.
