No Join Game button in Friends List Drop down menu after Steam overhaul.

Before the update that overhauled Steam and made it appear more like Discord, there was a clickable button called Join Game that would allow you to join a friend's game as long as it was a joinable lobby or server.

Ever since the update, that button has disappeared. All of my friends on and off of Steam still seem to have it, but when I right click someone's name in the Friends list or click the little arrow, the drop down menu shows up, but it's missing the Join Game button.

Now I can only join a friend's game if they send me an Invite over Steam. The Join Game button still shows up on peoples' profiles, but it only works 2 times out of ten before it glitches out whichever game I'm trying to join, forcing me to shut it off and restart it.

Operating System: Windows 10 Professional.

Steam Support said to make a post here, so here I am.
Short of uninstalling and re-installing Steam I'm not sure what else to try.
Do you have any ideas?

I noticed this in a games like Divinity 2, which have steam integration, and I can't join unless I was invited or joined directly through the game itself. What's the point of having the option if I can't even use it?

Still no fix for this. Button is still gone and can't join any games without someone else inviting me.
Bring back the old Steam, from before the update to make it seem more like Discord. You know, the one that actually worked.

Nope. It's gone completely ignored by the Steam devs since I first posted it. It's still a problem and I still have no idea how to fix it.

I'm still having this issue today, with the newest Steam Client update. I've been having this issue for 2 weeks now.

Tried the following, without success:
- Reinstall steam.
- Participate in Steam beta.
- Clear browser cache in Steam
- Clear download cache in Steam
- Reboot PC
- ipconfig /flushdns

Also, this list shouldn't be empty while having friends in a regular CS:GO server:

This is happening for all games. Not just CS:GO

If you follow that video's instructions it should re-download all Steam's crap without deleting your games. Quick, easy, much less of a pain to do.

I have been having the same issue, and my friends all think I am either crazy, or an idiot. I told them there is no fix, its just never there. At first it would be there, and disappear the next time i logged into steam. It has been missing now for around 6 months i'd say. I was just curious how many people in this discussion used the "beta" version of steam, and had switched back at some point. I was trying to switch back between the beta version and regular version to get it to work, and sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. Lately it has not worked....... Let me know if anyone fixes this issue!!!

Also I forgot to mention, like I said when I had the "beta" that was the current version of steam. When they updated the client, from the beta, I believe that has something to do with it.

just started the toher day for me, I joined a friend in space engineers , but it didnt work, after I have never seen the join friend when right clicking again.... its just gone, for all games.

I have tried another thing that gets it to work temporarily, even if your privacy is set to "friends only" you can change them all to public and it will work for a short bit but mine disappeared again. Still no permanent solution though.
