After thinking about this, Discord may not be a good place for Kal and Special K, if the troll happens to get on the server (which could be easy if he gets an invite to the server and starts trouble, which could not only get kal banned, but everyone on the server)

Where is this part of Discord everyone refers to that actually makes organizing anything long-term possible? Every time I look at it, all I see is a glorified chat room. It looks like a modern IRC server if anything, and I don't see any forum-like features.

What I need above all is a persistent threaded forum. I prefer this communication style to even GitHub or GitLab's issue tracker when offering support to normal end-users. A searchable forum that Google will index works best.

Discord may look simple but there are ways to make complex setups with rooms for each individual purpose and create and make bots even capable of doing caging and such. It has very advanced features in that regard. And can setup perimissions and roles as well. Have mods who can moderate ppl like a forum.
