Download, Install and Configure
http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=663922936

Quick-Start Guide
The mod comes pre-configured for 1920x1080 without Aspect Ratio Correction.
To run the game correctly at a non-16:9 resolution you will need:
  • Run ds3t.exe

    • Select the Graphics tab and set Aspect Ratio Correction to On
    • Select your desired resolution from Display Properties
For a detailed description of some of the more technical options in ds3t.exe, refer to the SoulsUnsqueezed.ini and dxgi.ini sections of the guide.

Yeah, works fine now, thanks!
is there a thread for Souls Unsqueezed 0.6.0 or is this one still the right one? >_>

I want to install a ReShade but I'm not sure about where and how I must put the files. the ReShade preset I downloaded comes like this:

- dxgi.dll (I know I have to ignore this one)
- ReShade.fx (I have no idea what it is, I've never used ReShade)
- ReShade (folder)

the content of the ReShade folder is like this:

folders:
- BasicFX
- CustomFX
- GemFX
- McFX
- PersonalFiles
- SweetFX

files:
- BasicFX.cfg
- BasicFX.undef
- Common.cfg
- CustomFX.cfg
- CustomFX.undef
- GemFX.cfg
- GemFX.undef
- McFX.cfg
- McFX.undef
- Pipeline.cfg
-SweetFX.cfg
- SweetFX.undef

every folder contains files with ".h" extension and a "Textures" folder, but the "SweetFX" folder also contains a "SharedShader" folder which contains more .h files.
do I have to put all of those .h files in SUS' "Shaders" folder and every file in the "Textures" folders into SUS'? or what.
I looked into the OSD menu and it said I had to put the ReShade64.dll file in "Documents\My Mods\SpecialK\PlugIns\Unofficial\ReShade", so I did (I assume this wasn't supposed to be the "official" one, but I tried with that too).
after putting the file there and enabling the plugin, the game would crash, no matter if loaded early or not. and even if that would have worked, I still don't know what exactly to put in the "Textures" and "Shaders" folders >_>

also, with version 0.6.0 the game sometimes crashes before reaching the intro logos and sometimes it doesn't, even without plugins and without changing any setting from the previous version.

here's a crash that happened when enabling ReShade: https://pastebin.com/QSmCavgw

Mod worked fine for 40 hours. Now this error pops up when I try to run D3ST.exe. While in game, the screen blurs and the character is fuzzy and blurry when I move. Only thing that has changed is that I just updated to new Nvidia drivers.

ERROR CALLING NVAPI FUNCTION
Line 362 of dxgi.cpp (in ds3t::DXGI::GetGPUInfo (...)):
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

NvAPI_GPU_GetAllClockFrequencies (gpus , &freq)

>>NVAPI_INVALID_ARGUMENT

update: I got the blurriness to stop again, but the error when launching D3ST.exe persists. Not a huge deal now I guess as I got the mod working in game.
So I just got banned a 2nd time using this mod. I have over 2400 hours logged into DS3, and the only times I've ever been banned are in the last month when I started using Souls Unsqueezed. I love playing DS3 at 21:9 though! Do you play online? Is this mod meant to be used offline only or are we resigned to only play on the shadow server with other "cheaters"? Do you have any idea what files in particular From might be flagging as malicious??

FYI - I'm using your latest modified SUS ReShade build.

Another guy who installed the latest version yesterday got the "invalid data" warning today. The latest version seems to not be safe. Maybe it's because of CEGUI?

Edit: welp I got banned too.
Me and that other guy were using the 0.9 version of the SpecialK.dll instead of the one who came with SUS. I had version 0.5.0.1 of SUS and he had 0.6.0 (if it matters at all, since we replaced the dll).
The guy above used version 0.6.0 so maybe it was the addition of CEGUI that caused the ban? Or anything else added to the dxgi.dll / SpecialK.dll after version 0.5.0.1 of SUS.

^ Am I the other guy?

Yeah, I suspect it's CEGUI as it's the only file I wasn't aware of when I deleted all related SUS files from my game directory, though I can't be sure. I really hope there's a work around for this because 21:9 is just that great, and I only have 3 more family accounts to burn, lol.

Also, I think the latest SUS allows for full animation near the side edges of the screen, but the experimental branch with ReShade does not. Any plans on fixing that?
No, I don't play online. But I've never in a million years heard of a developer stupid enough to issue bans for stuff like this.

In fact, I used to work for an MMORPG developer.

We had our own proprietary anti-cheat of course, and we cared little to none about modifications to the client unless they were producing tangible out-of-range data (i.e. player is moving faster than possible, player is transitioning from one area of the world to another that is not physically connected, player is dashing immediately to a spawn they cannot physically see.)

There's zero chance of this mod ever producing any differences in your character's data that would come across as inconsistent with the rules of the game.

So that leaves only either From Software is incompetent or something else is going on and we'll never know because From Software doesn't explain what they think you're doing wrong -- which I think is very unprofessional of them.

No, I've never done anything about the slower animation outside of the normal 16:9 field of vision. If I had done that, or allowed you to change the FOV, then FromSoftware might have a case for declaring this a cheat program. But alas, I haven't done that. Little to no competitive advantage comes from having a different aspect ratio than your peers.
Interesting. Youtuber WAF showcased this mod and mentioned that the out of bound areas now had full animation. https://youtu.be/AvHzcanB0eQ?t=230

Yeah, I'm sure FROM is automating the process, and whatever they're using to detect external files can't recognize actual cheats from programs that help them do their job. For whatever reason, ReShade doesn't register on their radar.

Well, I really hope FROM implements native 21:9 support, because this is quickly becoming a gaming standard.
I don't know what to tell you. I told that other guy to delete SUS and maybe reinstall an older version and I restored the files of the version I've used with no bans for more than a year. Let's see what happens in a week or two (or more).

I installed a newer version last week/two weeks ago because, after trying to use it for ReShade, I decided to keep it just for the in-game GUI and for the option to change the position of the steam notifications.
yeah had the same problem even now i still get the message in patch notes about my account having tampered with stuff everytime i log in, even though i deleted the mod which i sorely miss

well the ban doesn't disappear immediately, it lasts from 1 to 4 weeks or even more, they say.
turns out the version I've used for more than a year without bans was version 0.4.0 and not 0.5.0.1. I thought it was the latter because I had it in the "version" folder, so I thought the mod had updated itself sometime along the year. two weeks have gone by and I didn't get unbanned, but I can't know if it's because of the mod or if it's simply the ban lasting more than that. I reverted to version 0.4.0, let's see what happens in a week or two.
Can you guys point me to v0.4.0? I'm on my phone atm. Thanks.
