DX12 Monster Hunter World
I don't know if I am an idiot or if I installed Special K wrong, but I Special K works with DX11, but now that Capcom have supposedly fixed the DX12 implementation with the newest update, I tried checking DX12 out. Special K won't boot up when DX12 is running only with DX11. Let me know if you need any more information to help me out.

Are you discussing the standalone version of Special K from my Monster Hunter: World thread or the normal release version? The standalone version is compatible with D3D12 now, but requires an INI edit to workaround new anti-tamper stuff Capcom added a few patches ago. That's all discussed in the mega thread.

Be aware, when I say it's compatible with D3D12, that doesn't include the in-game config menu :-\ I cannot render my overlay in D3D12 yet. The mod still works, you just can't customize it while the game is running.

Thanks for the reply. I am using the guide from https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Special_K and manually installed and set MHW to game specific within the DX11 in-game config menu. I used the Google drive files and set the log to silent=true. I guess I just don't how to know whether Special K is running on the DX12 version. Also how do you edit the DX12 version without the game running then?

Manual edits to dxgi.ini are the only way to make changes in D3D12 :) Luckily you don't need to make many edits because I already tuned the framerate limiter for 60 FPS.

If it's working, there will be a file called logs/dxgi.log.

Thank you for your help. logs/dxgi.log is there and seems to be working then. Your tool is absolutely fantastic. Before I installed it, MHW was taking over a minute to load quests when Iceborne was released. Now after some caching, they load almost instantly. I am just going to attribute this to you because there wasn't an update around when I installed this. Thank you for your work.

where can i get the kaldaien_api64.dll ? its not included in your latest 7zip file on the google drive link

It's generated when the game starts, it's actually just a copy of steam_api64.dll. The game has been designed from day one to prevent modification to steam_api64.dll.

It _used_ to be possible for Special K to use SteamAPI by copying and modifying the game's shipping DLL. But the latest patch prevents even that from working and is why you need to turn off SteamAPI integration by setting Silent=true.

i just tried to download newest special K 0.10.3.1 and the game (MHW) just wont start no matter what i do in the .ini [i'm looking for an update because all the features in the old one i had stopped working]

That is the newest general release version, but the latest development version is actually 0.11.x.

0.10.x is not compatible with MHW as a result of the recent anti-tamper changes, so the game-specific forum post links to 0.11.x.

That's the one i've tried before, same behaviour.. it still won't start
even made

[Steam.Log]
Silent=true

and
UseFlipDiscard=false

i wonder whats wrong there, it creates the window game frame but gets stuck with plain black colour, no matter how long i wait, i't wont proceed with booting up the game :(

Well, guess im gonna need to revert back to the old special K version 0.9.24.36 which used to work Perfectly...
