King's German Legion

The King's German Legion was unit of mostly expatriate German personnel under the Napoleonic Wars. The King's German Legion achieved the destinction of being the only German force to fight without any interruptions against Napoleon under the Napoleonic Wars.
The Legion was formed in 1803 after the dissolution of the Eloctorate of Hanover. The King's German Legion never fought autonomously and were apart of the British Army during the Napoleonic Wars (1804-1815). It were autonomous for less then a year but never saw combat as a autonomous fighting unit. The legion played a vital role in multiple campaigns, most notably the Walcheren Campaign, the Peninsular War, and the Hundred Days (1815). The Legion was disbanded in 1816. Several units were incorporated into the army of the Kingdom of Hanover and later into the Imperial German Army.
