MDL Compiler not Working!

When I was downloading the Fixed MDL Compiler, it does not work as it says it is not compatible with my computer that runs on Windows 8, is there a way to fix this? Or is there an alternative version to MDL Compiler? Please Help!

You mean the decompiler? I'm not sure if there is an alternative... The only other decompiling program is Studiocompiler, but it's written by the same guy who made that program. So it probably won't work either. Are you sure it's a windows 8 issue? I'm not sure if there is any solution other than using a different OS... windows 8 isn't a desktop PC OS anyway... you should really be using win 7.

Yes, I'm sure it is a Windows 8 issue I spent half an hour figuring out if it was. I'll try Studiocompiler, is there a certain studiocompiler I should use? Could you give me a link possibly?

Yeah. I'm not sure how useful the program will be for tf2, but I used it a few years ago when dota 2 models weren't provided and needed to be decompiled.

I guess so. This whole lack of support for the hlmv/source SDK is getting annoying as well. It seems Valve just forgot about it. I straight up can't view anything withing the vpk files anymore (I basically have to extract everything to even use the hlmv...)

Yeah, when it comes to Blender something that should only take me a few minutes, takes me a few hours trying to fix certain problems. Its just really annoying sometimes. I can't go about five minutes before I run into another problem.

Eventually, I get them fixed though, its just sometimes I can't fix problems, anyway I'll try the studiocompiler and I might get back to you tomorrow with the results. Thanks for all the advice.

It still doesn't work, but I guess I'll have to wait for an updated version.

There is another more recent decompiler called Crowbar. Check it out.

Thanks, Zeq. I haven't used crowbar, so I can't help you figure out how to use it, but if it works, then I would recommend downloading it.
