" SEAFORTH HIGHLANDERS"

The 1/5th Battalion of the 51st Highland Division known as the "Seaforth
Highlanders" was a famous British regiment during the previous years before World War II. The regiment was then converted into a Battalion on November 1914, the battalion was a part of the 152nd Brigade of the 51st Highland Division until 1915. later on served with the 9th Scottish Division and the 15th Scottish Division, when the WWII occur the Battalion was serving in Malaya under the 23rd Indian Division, it later on served again in the 152nd Brigade in the 51st Highland during its deployment to France part of the BEF aka British expeditionary force on October 1939. During the Battle of France of 1940 the battalion was captured in the village Saint Valery en Caux. It later on served with the 152nd Brigade of the 51st through out the war up until 1944 where it was transferred to the 46th Highland Brigade in the 15th Scottish Infantry Division.
