“In Warcraft, warlocks absolutely did create undead…”

False / misleading.
In Warcraft I & II, the Horde’s necro-flavored units were actually Necrolytes, later renamed Necromancers — not warlocks.

Warlocks in WoW (the game everyone thinks of when you say “warlock”) are demon summoners — imps, voidwalkers, succubi, felguards — not skeletons or zombies.
👉 He’s blurring unit names from 30-year-old RTS manuals. In actual mainstream fantasy memory, Warcraft necromancy = Necromancer, demon summoning = Warlock.

🔥 Counter to His D&D Claim

“Warlocks CAN LEARN NECROMANCY, so necromancy is fair game.”

Yes, any caster in D&D can dip into necromancy because it’s a school of spells, not a class identity. A cleric can learn necromancy too — does that make clerics necromancers? Nope.

What defines the Warlock class is the pact system and eldritch invocation mechanics — not “raising skeletons.”
👉 In D&D, a warlock with necromancy spells is still first and foremost a pact-bound warlock, not “a necromancer in disguise.”

🔥 Counter to His Elder Scrolls Claim

“In Elder Scrolls, demon summoning and necromancy are both Conjuration, so they’re the same thing.”

Conjuration is a school bucket, not a class. It contains three distinct practices:

Summoning daedra (demon equivalents).

Summoning undead.

Bound weapons / objects.

Just because the devs grouped them under one skill tree doesn’t mean they’re “the same thing.” It’s like saying “healing and smiting are both Restoration spells, therefore priests are the same as paladins.” It’s a mechanical convenience, not a lore statement.

🔥 Counter to His “Necromancy from Demons” Point

“There are examples where necromancy comes from demons anyways, so it makes sense for warlocks to have it.”

Sure, you can flavor necromancy as demonic — but that’s the exception, not the rule.

Traditionally:

Necromancers draw power from death, souls, or the veil between life & death.

Warlocks draw power from external infernal patrons (demons/devils).

Blending them is possible in some settings, but conflating them as “the same thing” ignores the archetypal distinction that fantasy has reinforced across dozens of universes.

🎯 How You Shut Him Down

Warcraft: Necrolytes/Necromancers raised undead. Warlocks summoned demons. Stop rewriting history.

D&D: Any caster can take necromancy spells, but class identity matters — Warlock = pact magic, Necromancer = death specialization.

Elder Scrolls: Conjuration lumps schools for gameplay, but daedra summoning and necromancy are narratively distinct.

Big Picture: Yes, fantasy worlds can mash them together — but almost every major fantasy IP keeps warlocks = demonologists and necromancers = death-mages. AoW4 mashed them into a hybrid for convenience, but pretending they’ve “always been the same thing” is just wrong.

lmao using ai because you don't have an argument.

I use AI to save time debating low IQ people. Your here to try and "win" an argument im here to be "correct"
