My point was more about the quality of EOS as a whole not so much a possible specific issue. Could an issue exist? Sure, issues will always pop up eventually. As for the bug you'd have to show me exactly what is being claimed specifically. Because other than the regional and difficulty filters once it comes time for EOS to attempt to make a connection that is on EOS. If it wasn't properly implemented it wouldn't work but then it wouldn't work for anyone but that isn't the case.

So you're going to have to provide the specific bug claim and link it for me to give a take on what is occurring there.
You're savvy enough to explore the forums and find mod replies that say such, or do a quick search on the official Discord. I don't have to do anything because you tell me to.

Without looking to deep into it if I had to take a guess what is happening here isn't a "bug" it's a flaw in how requests on each side operate with EOS and an online lobby of the game.

So lets say I am the host, and you are trying to find a rando to play with. I am currently hosting a lobby and am the closest to you. Ideally you should connect to me but you aren't and this is probably why...

:ftlzoltan:-------- :ftlslug: You are currently doing the opposite telling EOS to connect you to hosts

But what is occurring here is probably...

:ftlrebel:-----:ftlzoltan: I am pinging EOS telling it to send players my way. Let's just say these packets are sent every 30 seconds and delist sometime later... more on delisting in a bit.

:ftlmantis: ----:ftlzoltan: Then a communist Mantis from China appears and also seeks players. (Feel free to boo them) doing the same as me.

The way the game is setup and :ftlzoltan: however can now go in one of two ways.

:ftlmantis: Is being prioritized despite distance to you :ftlslug: because they are the most recent create/update session Ultimately causing....

:ftlmantis: ----- :ftlslug: And now you have 800ms ping and have an unplayable experience.

The regional/distance bias 'works' but hosts are all just waiting in line like so... :ftlrebel::ftlmantis::ftlmantis::ftlmantis::ftlmantis::ftlmantis::ftlmantis: imagine if these each represented and X amount of people beyond which reaches beyond the limit of :ftlzoltan: handles at once. So the :ftlrebel:'s get cut off from the front as they were there first and delisted (The lobby is still open and they will request again but go to the back of the line in 30 seconds) meaning a :ftlmantis: comes to the front and is now priority connection for :ftlslug: causing...

Obviously the regional settings helped with this. But for that poor user from South America in the thread I linked to without a regional setting for them it's basically this for them all the time as their region cannot compete with the entire globe. So if one of these two things are occurring than statistically it is simply unlikely that they are connecting to anyone near them.

Should be easy to fix though that region filter should always remain. As even if :ftlmantis: is currently the only player waiting with :ftlzoltan: to play matchmaker it just isn't reasonable to ever connect to them unless you specifically wish to.
