I think the best way to savescum the light shield is to save before talking to Jan-Ette. Her drop table is rerolled on her death.

I am surprised to read your wariness around the Chief. A level 19 party should have nothing to fear from him, regardless of build.

I haven't been close to party wipe in my entire run and I know that:
1) This area tends to spawn adds like extended reach hard shelled crabs which are nightmare if you aren't prepared, sea sprites (about my current party level range) that cast tsunami, blizzard and extremely dangerous toxic cloud, Rynjin' Empaths with lots of nasty spells prismatic spells & instant death.
2) Even rushing to the chest to check contents I took quite a bit of damage from rynjin trash on the way. They toss big mental spells that seemed to do damage even with soul shield up.
3) I remember having a party wipe against the chief many years ago but can't remember specifically why. Maybe he got the drop on me.

and last but not least, I didn't want to reload to avoid a game over.
reload to get skill ups OK, reload to test level up also OK

I've played a bit of ironman in the past and each major boss is puts me on edge.

The entire progression system at this moment - nah you don't need me, go do the quest.

He can be frozen, but gets no damage from it, he can be bled (500+ stacks with the Hero's pear) but no damage either. There does not seem to be a way to push him off the cliffs, since the area is surrounded by a "force field", and I could not do that.
Immune to lightning damage, burning, poison, punching, damage reflection, and stabbing with anything I had on me.

Totally ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, but well, I guess that eventuality was somewhat clearly articulated, what did I expect?

Imo they should make every player use some default grunt mechs, and then during the match they can spend resources to use the stronger mechs (similar to games such as star wars battlefront 2). If they don't do something like this, everyone would just end up picking stego or something. I'd imagine there would also need to be restrictions of the number of same mechs per team. Multiple stegos rotating their cloud cooldown would be pretty silly lol

That is what Mashmak should have been more or less (honestly I think a custom Mashmak only mech that you improve over time would be the "hook" it needed to function).

Well, the fact is : they can't.

The main issue will not be corrected by re-analysing your code, update it to make your CPU usage more comfortable, etc.. The problem is the RE engine used which litteraly CAN'T handle open-worlds configurations without the most recent hardwares.

They had the same issues with Dragon"s dogma 2 with their pawns system : if you entered a city massively occupied by pawns, the game dropped dozens of FPS only due to the RE engine. And it has never been corrected.

I accepted the fact to uninstall it without possibly being refund. I lost money, well, it's just money. However, it still makes me laugh how fanboys are constantly trying to defend Capcom on this situation.

DLSS + DLAA gives me around 100+ FPS. I feel bad that others cant run this, and it'd be great if they could optimize. but thats for others. For me, I need more content in wilds. It is so lackluster

BIG THANK YOU to Nibato. You saved my 1.6 Odyssey play through! I had never experienced significant stutter in rimworld and thats with running most of the VE mods. So again, Thanks bud!

TLDR : If running G-sync, the only change I needed is : - Set Vertical sync to "off" . Fixed the stuttering and I still have variable refresh rate running (i.e. g-sync on).

So for those that are curious, I went all in with 1.6 and I had bough my first DLCs (Biotech, Royalty and Odyssey). So I wasn't sure what was causing the issue (DLCs, 1.6, VE with 1.6??). Tried out some performance mods and diagnostic tools (The Dubs one) and couldn't find anything conclusive or helpful. Then found this thread! Of course, if we could lose the troll posts about having a bad CPU, I would have gotten to the solution quicker....

So for me, the only setting I needed to change is - Set Vertical sync to "off"

Here's a recap of the steps (Credit @Nibato) :

- Open the nvidia control panel
- Go to Manage 3d settings
- Go to the Program Settings Tab
- Add Rimworld's exe (rimworldwin64.exe)
- Set Vertical sync to "off"

This one was already set to highest on my end :
- Set "Preferred Refresh rate" to "Highest Available"

Idk if it's just me or others have this issue, but if you have gotten into the game within the last few years and possibly further the blood web is super taxxing, I started playing last year just before castlevania and I still haven't seen much progression outside of events or really late into the season.

My killer games typically net me very few bloodpoints and my survivor games are just slightly more no matter how well I do in games.

I just feel that the reward for effort and learning is too minimal and kinda makes the game boring outside of events.
Not to mention bloodweb the RNG of it all has lead my to being forced to get perks that are practically useless to my builds (I tend to play with a variety of perks).

I still am a new comer in that sense and even with the updates to the bloodweb I feel a very big lack of progression.
For extra info, I play fairly often imo, I do all quests, I do tome quests, I play during events.

Tell me your thoughts and if you agree and disagree, Obviously the game isnt in it's best state so this is more a QoL issue rather than a game issue so it's not that important just after a year of playing it's taken the wind out of my sails.
