On one hand, I'm thankful that Heretic/Hexen doesn't have hitscan enemies, and they weren't directly parallel with Doom's enemies. But the lower enemy variety also affected balance. In the first episode, you only had gargoyles, undead warriors, golems and disciples as your enemies if you don't count the variant and ghost versions.

And to make up for this, Raven basically increased the monster count drastically and gave them far more health than Doom's enemies. Yes, the Tome of Power will help even these odds. and you'd have to use them anyway since you can only carry one over. But you'd still be spending most of the game unpowered.

Hexen's base game only doubled down on this design philosophy with the most common enemy having more health than a pinky while you're still using your first weapon, when Doom pretty much gives you a shotgun within the first minute of playing.

Hexen 2 was even worse, by making spongy, small and fast regular enemies to boot. And just speaking for myself, the enemy count in all these games can get so high that the default difficulty feels more like Doom's Ultra-Violence.

Purists may defend the original game's balance decisions, but I'm perfectly happy to play this release with the balance tweaks. In the base game, the starting golem could take as many as 10 hits from the crystal wand to kill if the RNG gods were against you. Dropping it down to about 6 on average was a huge quality of life improvement.

How are you supposed to figure out that 18,13 exists? I found it by accident while looking at the online map [ooo-map-viewer.pages.dev] while trying to figure out a different puzzle, so I already knew it was there. Is it hinted at in-game somewhere?

notice anything about the map around that area? It's more obvious in-game when you discover (15,10) and it's seemingly a pointless room

could you nudge me a bit more? it doesn't look like anything to me.

So I did the "♥♥♥♥, Camera, Action" event and I made it to the end to get the maid porn star and it shows as complete but never got the opening of her card animation and she never showed up in my collection. Was reading around and saw other people are having issues with the event so I'm not to worried about it but I can say I'm disheartened and hope it will be fixed soon.

huh? im not even buying the game but i do have a great enough job to easily afford a current gen pc without needing to build one. one-click buy

hate to break it to you ♥♥♥♥♥♥ it doesnt matter what "gen" you have when people with secure boot enabled and it still wont work

none we know about, each character has a different chance upon legendary drop.

I get that like recluse has a higher chance to have staff drops. But like I said on most runs I've had the giant whip or dragon fist or Dragon King's Cragblade drop. It could be i'm extremely unlucky but I also feel like these from a game design perspective would be considered "bad" because they kinda blew in elden ring. Whereas something like the blasphemous blade would be consider extremely good because its probably the best weapon in elden ring. So to me it make sense if the devs look at that and made the bad legendary more common and the broken ones more rare. Also kinda tracks my in game experience of course I dont have like data of this or anything

Blasphemous blade wasn't the best in the game, it was river of blood, which is pretty easy to get here.... It trivializes most fights. As for best legendary is Marais sword and grafted UGS

I see that there are 2 hotfixes at the moment, but I see no way to download them. The game does not updates as well. Are them released? Is there any way to download them?
