There is a lot of missing info on it. The dev team has stated the early access is ready, but publisher rejected it, and has fired the lead devs.
There are two sides to the story, there is bonus if they released this year. But on the other side some of the comments from the fired devs are concerning. They disliked and resented a lot of the things that made the first game great. Like they were upset the game is a horror game as that was unintended, and they hated that players knifed and found ways to kill leviathans so made them immortal. I also notice that all the screenshots are very bright and shallow depths. Which makes me think they planed to make the map more like BZ's.
Over all its not clear if the publisher held back the game to avoid the bonus, or if they deemed the game was not ready, or more that it was built how the lead devs wanted vs how expectations and fan wants are, making it more like BZ vs the first game, so they may have said no and required reworking which is why they fired the devs. The publisher wants it to sell like the first, not like BZ after all. And in a case like this were the lead devs are one hit wonders, and the success mostly accidental, I am more ok with taking them out of the lead positions if they dislike what worked so much.
But without confirmation or seeing the games state we are entirely speculating and its not ok to be attacking the dev team or publisher with hate or be spreading a narrative. We do not know the motive of the publisher, they could have defended the fans for all we know.

We all suggest you take it up with the Devs and official forums... it seems that you don't want any help or suggestions from anyone, rather it appears you only just want to argue with and insult others when they give you solutions that you don't agree with, with all due respect.

It's a moot discussion and personally, I'm done being insulted in just trying to help.
