After 60+ hours without any crashes with a RTX 5090 and a 9950x3d the game went very unstable after this update. I'm playing on game pass and can't role back to a previous version.
Apart from random crashes the game always immediately crashes with Fatal Error when entering Stone Wave Cliffs. Image is starting to stutter and then goes black, audio continues playing and I need to use Task Manager to kill it. It's raining at the beginning of Stone Wave Cliffs and it seams to be immediately causing the crashes. I also get crashes on the world map, but not immediately.

I solved the issue by uninstalling the latest NVIDIA Graphics driver 580.88 and installed the previous version 577.00.
Didn't have a single crash since then. All DLSS 4 feature do still work.

Confirming the same sort of issue as this. Also on a 5090, 7800x3d cpu. My save from before 1.4 was actually in Stone Wave Cliffs and now I cannot load the game as it is an instant crash upon load.

If I change to using -dx11 launch option, it will work, though that disables all the new frame gen features. I had 1 or 2 random crashes before (last played back in May) but never required going to dx11 just to play.

Hopefully there is a new patch soon, either from nVidia for drivers or the game itself.

Idk crap about game making and I’ve tried to get into it but it’s to much for me but you must be really smart to do all this stuff and understand it! Your IQ is definitely not the average. I’m happy you put so much time and love into the game. I remember there was a huge issue minecraft had. It took forever for them to figure out how to fix it. It was for rendering and loading a lot more blocks at once without breaking performance. It was the chunk system or something. Idk if I even made sense just now lol. I had to ask ChatGPT what exactly it was because I saw a video about it not to long ago and well this made me think of that for some reason. Maybe Minecraft dealt with similar issues where looking back to see how they dealt with things can help you. I have no idea, I could be saying something completely irrelevant lol. Well I hope you figure out all the issues. I’m seriously impressed with the knowledge you have and your game. I truly wish I was as smart and could even simply understand coding at the very least. I’ve tried, it’s confusing. But enough of me rambling lol. I hope things work out.

I've never seen that happen, usually it's just people doing soldier taunts or the crying "taunt" under the statue

No I think that I have it but still this game is a huge buggy mess. I miss the voices in some parts of the story line and they need to do a way with the hints during game play at the beginning unless doing the tutorial. Also, they should never have brought out the new stuff until they fixed what they had.

They did fix what they already had. i know as i am one of the bug hunters. issues with audio can be a codec issue with windows. try downloading codec for your OS. should fix your issues if not there could be many different reasons why the sound would not work when playing vids. as mine runs perfect. and no one else is reporting this issue.

I think this is happening because G-SYNC is not working. I fixed mine by disabling V-SYNC at driver level in NVIDIA Control Panel.
