Skills getting more powerful when you level up.

Assuming 'stronger' means 'more damaging' (or 'healing'), then most skill's power will be based on either Attack (ATK), Magic Attack (MAT), or possibly Agility (AGI).

Normally, that means when a character levels, their stats increase (the amount is based on their class), you can see the angle of increase in the Class tab of the Database. So that's the simplest way. They go up a level, and their stats increase, which increases the effect of the skill that uses that attribute.

Otherwise, you can just make a new, more efficient skill. For instance, when looking at Skills in the Database, we can see that Fire has this formula: '150 + a.mat * 2 - b.mdf * 2' and Fire II has '400 + a.mat * 2 - b.mdf * 2'. They're both based of attacker's Magic Attack (a.mat) but Fire II will also be 150 points ahead. Obviously you could instead change the multiplier from *2 to *3 or more.

So if you have a skill called 'Hangman's Noose' that does 100 damage, you can always have them learn Hangman's Noose II' and do 200 (obviously with some variation for attack stat and defender's (b) defense.

Let's say you don't want to get with a Fire, Fire II, Fire III (or 'Fire', 'Fira', 'Firaga' thing), you could make a new skill in the skill list with the same name as your skill and up the formula for damage or effects in some way. Then you add it into the Class list at the level you want it learned. Unfortunately I don't see a way to remove a skill through Class leveling, you would have to make an event or Common Event that triggered when they leveled (or talked to a trainer at a certain level), and choose to remove the original Skill and add the new Skill (otherwise they'd just have two skills with the same name, one of which is more powerful and that's confusing).
